Thanks a lot in advance maybe there is a nice shop I don't know already.
WOW HD usually have fair prices and also free shipping on everything. I don't know where you live, but http://www.wowhd.co.uk/ is the UK website. You can change country and currency online, but not all countries are represented. Zavvi and some other sites have UK Criterions, if you are interested in that too.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Seems that WowHD updated their prices recently which makes the discs pretty expensive. Used to order all my Criterions from them when they were still called cdwow. Back in 2005/6/7.
Located in Germany and would love to order some more US Criterions discs.

I think you listed nearly every one of my favorite films on this list too. Lost in Translation moves me beyond anything too. It's pure catharsis. It's pure adventure. It's pure emotion. I love the fact that you included a couple of Michael Mann films on your list too (both of which are my favorites of his too).

You know, whenever I think of the vibrant Chungking Express, I also think of the free-spirited Lost in Translation. Perhaps this would make for a great double feature, no? Which of the films would you watch first, that's the question?
I'd say begin with Lost in Translation and end with Chungking Express.

I'm strictly basing it off of how the films end (mood wise).

P.S. The only thing I like more than Lost in Translation is Breaking Bad.

I mean, if Kino (and I have no idea if Kino has a relationship with MGM, I'm just using them as an example) wound up rereleasing things like Manhattan or Rebecca I'd be pretty okay with that. But I'd also be okay with films like that getting Criterion releases even though I'm perfectly content with MGM discs I already own.

And I'd actually love a spiffed up Midnight Cowboy.
The three films in MGM's Hitchcock set would all be worthwhile releases from Criterion, as all three were Criterion titles on both LD and DVD, with a wealth of supplementary material.

And, yes, by the way, Kino does have a relationship with MGM. As do Olive, Shout Factory, Twilight Time, and Criterion.

I tend not to think of Arrow, as the only things I'm interested in from their catalog are the Japanese crime films.

There are just a host of Aussie/Kiwi titles I'd love to see on Blu from Criterion. Or anyone else, for that matter. Aside from the usual call for any Peter Weir films not already out on BD...

The Coca Cola Kid
The Dish
The Getting of Wisdom
Innocence (or any of Paul Cox's other films)
The Lighthorsemen
Muriel's Wedding
The Navigator: A Medićval Odyssey
Smash Palace
Sunday Too Far Away
Weekend of Shadows
The Year My Voice Broke and Flirting

For anyone interested in Multiple Maniacs, it looks like these are the final specs. Kind of bummed that the "MORE!" turned out to just be a trailer and video essay. Oh well. I'm still psyched on this release. Definitely can't wait to get it. I wonder how extensive the new interviews are.

Maybe this can pave the way for future Waters releases?

DIRECTOR-APPROVED EDITION:

New 4K digital restoration, supervised by director John Waters, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack on the Blu-ray
New audio commentary featuring Waters
New interviews with cast and crew members Pat Moran, Mink Stole, Susan Lowe, George Figgs, and Vincent Peranio
New video essay by scholar Gary Needham
Trailer
PLUS: An essay by critic Linda Yablonsky
New cover by Eric Skillman

On the subject of LD to BD upgrades: Cronenberg's CRASH pls

Scream grabbed Dead Ringers so who knows what'll happen with this one. Hopefully they got it in the bag already.

A guy on IMDb spotted this a month ago.

Apparently it's on Filmstruck https://watch.filmstruck.com/#!/detail/1300004157. There's also a blank page on the Criterion's website with Elem Klimov's name. https://www.criterion.com/people/123751-elem-klimov

Maybe it means something, it would be great. It's a pity Criterion BD's are Region A locked

Criterion would be a safe bet. It was released by Fine Line, so considering the WB deal, we might see it from Criterion. If not, Warner Archive it is.

I've always wanted to see this movie, although I've heard that it's extremely disturbing.

An understatement if there ever was one. I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to sit through it again.

Thanks for posting. I didn't realize this was on FS. Letterboxd has this as the highest rated movie (not TV and not 2016) that I have not seen.

My wishlist of LD-only releases would also include Dušan Makavjev's Montenegro, Daniel Vigne's The Return of Martin Guerre, Bae Yong-Kyun's Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?, Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It, and Anthony Mann's El Cid.

It's a masterpiece IMO.
It's not an action (war) movie, there's no gore or graphic violence. It's all about capturing the horrors of war. The director used all possible film techniques to make us feel what he wanted to. And you certainly feel what it would have been living in Byelorussia in 1943 when the german troops got there; hell on earth.

A very compelling film. I have the Kino/Ruscico DVD, and would love to see it upgraded to Blu.

It's true, we are clones!

I was going to say the same thing... because Chungking Express has a much more uplifting ending than Lost in Translation.
