I'm PRETTY sure the post I quoted was in regards to Cronenberg's "Crash." That's definitely what I was talking about, anyway. The lack of nested quotes here makes it hard to tell sometimes

Checking in briefly to say that Woman in The Dunes is a masterpiece. Thanks, banneduser, for giving it a hearty recommendation. Expected to like it but didn't expect it to give as much as it does.

I don't have time to really put together some thoughts on it but here are some films that crossed my mind while watching it. The newer stuff could have been influenced by WITD...

"Come and See" is crawling with bodacious T&A. It's all about babes, buns, and boobs. The title should have been "Come and See...This Incredible T&A on Display".

"Come and See" and "Crash" are similar in that they're extraordinarily easy to fap to.

I feel that this is too much to ask, but I would KILL to have some of Satoshi Kon's movies under the Criterion Collection. In case you haven't wondered who he is and what the hell he's done, he's one of anime's most revered auteurs that isn't named Hayao Miyazaki. His entire portfolio includes...

Perfect Blue
Millennium Actress
Tokyo Godfathers
Paprika (released on Blu-ray a while back, but I think it deserves the Criterion treatment)
Paranoia Agent

Seeing as Perfect Blue tends to be his most underrated work and Millennium Actress as his most revered (it went toe-to-toe with Spirited Away in Japan's award season), I think those two in particular are most deserving of the treatment. Plus, it's only right that Criterion helps us get exposed to other unsung international classics, especially if those films are in the animation department.

The box art below is fanart, but I'd love to have this show up in my Blu-ray collection:
