Don't even get me started on Fox News and their golden boy Glenn Beck. A snake-oil salesman that guy is. I am shocked people believe in that get-rich schemed punk. I heard he has something planned tomorrow too.

Interesting review of the Studio Canal version of The Third Man at highdefdigest. Seems like the Criterion is definitely the one to own on blu-ray, accept no substitutes. (I suppose there have been other reviews I've since forgotten about.)

dvdbeaver review was not at bad, but clearly the Criterion is better.
(not like there was ever any doubt it would be)
studio canal collection releases continue to be very hit or miss propositions.
shame that most people will be stuck with that bd version of the BFI's number 1 British film of all time.

Turns out the daughter of that Florida pastor believe her own dad has serious mental problems and is a cult leader.

I bet he doesn't go through with it. If he does, I feel for Muslims and the Christians who do not side with this, but I hope it's caught on live T.V., so if something happens to him, it will be fun T.V..

Last I heard anything, he was being referred to as a Jim Jones wannabe, apparently was kicked out of Germany for religious slavery or some such thing. (Der Spiegel (Germany's version of Time magazine) recently had an exposé article about him.) It's pretty obvious he has serious mental problems.

Oh here's the article, I've not read it yet.

Fanny and Alexander would be a great Christmas treat. They had a Christmas-themed film last December, so maybe we will see it this holiday season?

Some non-rumored December titles, I really would like a Malle or Bunuel release soon. I see that they have some rumored titles for both in the future.

Actually, I take that back. I hope December's release includes every Wes Anderson film, every Goddard film and every Kurosawa film. That will cut down on the debate on the boards a little bit.
I PREDICT that Videodrome will see a street date of 12/7/10.

Beaver seems to go soft on SC releases and films with excessive DNR.

December thoughts:

Videodrome
Au Revoir Les Enfantes
Sweet Smell of Success
Fanny and Alexander
Dark Horse: City Lights

Videodrome would be awesome, I've recently rewatched it and was amazed by the fact how detailed the SD version was, can't wait to see the VHS playing vag*na in HD.

Picnic At Hanging Rock - This film has already been released in the UK and Australia. Surely the Criterion release can't be too far off?

Tokyo Story - The BFI recently released some Ozu films in the UK using transfers provided by Criterion.

Fish Tank - Antichrist already has a release date, but not this film. They probably don't want to wait too long after the (limited) U.S. theatrical release, since it received generally favorable reviews.

Usually, if a title has been released in region B, the Criterion isn't too far behind (The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, Red Desert, M).

Charade comes out on the 21st. This website has the wrong date. CC's site has it right.

http://www.criterion.com/films/603-charade

BTW, rarely will you ever see an all 5 star rating that TTRL received. This seems to be CC's masterpiece so far. A must own.
