I think the time is irrelevant and just represents furrowed brows.

What about a Criterion upgrade of Nicholas Roeg's Bad Timing?

Oh how I'd love it if it did get Criterion treatment though. Such an underrated film.

That's so funny cause I used that term on the post I did on the last page regarding Groundhog Day lol and I even thought Bad Timing .... that could be it of course imported the UK Blu for Bad Timing a few months back.

also Mike Leighs Meantime seems fitting also

this one is a tough clue.

Meantime does seem to be the strongest fit as far as how Criterion tends to make these clues.

DVD Beaver for Multiple Maniacs.

I am looking forward to this. Still wish Waters gave them at least one of his old short films as a Special Feature. Maybe holding out for future releases?

I know in a recent interview he was asked about future blu-rays in addition to MM and Serial Mom, and he basically said he can't say yes or no, but will just say yes to move the interview along.

Bought my first Criterion which had a poster instead of a booklet. Worst idea ever!! Seriously what were they thinking.

This past weekend I have had the pleasure of binge watching Howard Hawks movies, because as to my surprise, I hadn't seen any of them with the exception of The Big Sleep years ago.. I know, I know, how could this be?
Mostly got them through Netflix or Amazon, but after watching His Girl Friday, Bringing Up Baby, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, I went out and blind bought Only Angels Have Wings. All extremely great films.. Wings was a bit melodramatic at times, but still enjoyed it.
Tonight I'm going to go with To Have and Have Not and I have to get a copy of Red River.
Very exciting finding a great director that I needed to watch a lot of films from. I had heard of Hawks and Wyler just hadn't got to seeing them yet.

*I'm assuming Criterion will be releasing Bringing Up Baby?

Cost cutting I guess. When I read the descriptions of upcoming releases the term "illustrated leaflet" or "essay by.." instead of booklet is a bit disappointing.

He has so many great films under his belt. Make sure to check out Rio Bravo if you haven't seen it yet, one of my favorite westerns.

I'd say so. The time on the clock is incorrect- if the minute hand is on the 2, then why is the hour hand between 10 and 11? That, plus the mean looking face on the clock would suggest that this maybe a future release.

Totally crazy???

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringing_Bell

Quote:
Ringing Bell (チリンの鈴 Chirin no Suzu?, lit. Chirin's Bell) is the 1978 Japanese/American anime film adaption of the storybook of the same name written by Takashi Yanase. It is most notable by fans and critics as a G-rated children's film which makes a sharp-sudden turn into a dark and violent (stylized and bloodless) story that criticises and reflects upon the theme of revenge. It is also recognized as one of the only Japanese shock films directed towards children.[1]

Ringing Bell was produced by Sanrio and originally shown as a double feature alongside the US/Sanrio co-production The Mouse and his Child. It is Sanrio's first anime film to have a dark plot, only two other films produced by the company, The Ideon: A Contact and The Ideon: Be Invoked also follow suit.
