Used 4 gift certificates so total damage was under $500.
This is one of my all-time favorite sets. 2 of the 4 films (All Night Long & Victim) are on blu in Region B.

Yeah it's pointless to buy under 50 dollars. A lot of people use the flash sale and the Barnes and noble sale as the couple times a year when they buy criterions. A way to stock up and save a lot of money.

Very strange, the "love" promotional code does not work for me. All of the titles I've chosen are new releases and are available. What gives?

Upgraded three archaic DVDs: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Traffic, Night and the City

One title I should have bought years ago: Paths of Glory

One blind buy: Riot in Cell Block 11

One new release: Mildred Pierce

Used a $50 gift card and spent enough to earn another one!

I'm really interested in buying the Essential Jacques Demy box set. I notice that a couple of the titles are getting individual releases soon. Are there any differences with the transfers of those two films? Should I hold off on the box set?

I'm always tempted to get Loves of a Blonde after having seen it for a film class in college, but I'm sure once I do it'll be announced to be coming out on bluray. I know it's not a huge movie but it comes from a well known director.

The upcoming standalone films are his two most celebrated films.

The discs will be identical to those in the box set.

Didn't have a ton of money but picked up Dr. Strangelove. Will be an upgrade over the DVD I have.

Went with The Executioner. Had never heard of the film till Criterion released it but really liked the description the site has. I always get excited when Criterion introduces me to a new film I had never heard of so I had to pull the trigger.

If anyone needs a suggestion, pick up In the Mood for Love.

If you have some spare money, pick up a second copy just in case.

That's good to know. Thanks. I ordered the box set. A complete blind buy, but all films look fantastic.

Seems I'm not being terrible unique in this, but I also ordered HIS GIRL FRIDAY and MILDRED PIERCE, as well as AKIRA KUROSAWA'S DREAMS (the only Kurosawa I had yet to get).

Snagged Fox and His Friends, Mildred Pierce, and The Before Trilogy.

Also that special feeling when you get your order confirmation from the flash sale before you get the notification e-mail for the sale itself.
