Man, I wish I loved Late Spring as much as I love Tokyo Story.

I rewatched it sometime last year and it's a good movie but it feels like standard Ozu. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of his films.

I was in the same boat, figuring that I would just wait until July. But, I was messing around and put three items in my cart and then noticed there was a $10 credit...from what I don't remember. I just said, screw it, and ordered:

I've been so Criterion focused today that I almost missed MOC announcing HHH's Daughter of the Nile! Hopefully Criterion has this on the way as well, but as the only HHH film i don't have a copy of, the MOC release will be a day one purchase. Stoked!

I feel the same way. I liked An Autumn Afternoon better, as well.

If I were to recommend one title that seems to not get much fanfare, I'd say give Woman in the Dunes a try. Theres a lot to satisfy all kinds of films fans in WITD.
