I'm going with a family member who has a membership to Costco tomorrow. Do they still carry Criterion discs?

Anyone have an underrated suggestion? I need one more pick before I place my order to get the $50 coupon.

Gut reaction: I absolutely loved People on Sunday. I couldn't even tell you why but I really, really connected. It's a slightly risky blind buy maybe but I loved it.

Revanche and Carlos are also two great picks that are very highly thought of that aren't always at the top of recommendation lists. Those two are pretty safe blind buys imo.

I love Broadcast News, Night Train to Munich, and Friends of Eddie Coyle. With Coyle being the lesser of the 3, but I really enjoyed it.

I would personally choose Il Sorpasso, In Cold Blood, and The Friends of Eddie Coyle. But there's lots of good options here.

From your list...

What I've seen:

- Broadcast News (theatrically)
- Lone Wolf and Cub (only the first movie so far, on the old non-Criterion set, but it's great)

What I own but haven't watched yet (Criterion version unless otherwise indicated):

- The Black Stallion (DVD)
- The Tin Drum
- Night Train to Munich

On my wishlist (all blind buys):

- The Blob
- Robinson Crusoe on Mars
- Ballad of Narayama (this was $15 on BestBuy.com a few years ago, and I'm still kicking myself for not getting it at that price).

Hopefully that will be of some help.

BTW, just got these beauties today. I highly recommend all three Before movies and Pan's Labyrinth (the other two Del Toro films are blind buys).

I ended up ordering His Girl Friday, The Asphalt Jungle, and Mildred Pierce.

Repo Man, The Player or Short Cuts (which is probably the most underrated)

If you don't mind foreign and black & white, A Man Escaped is pretty amazing.

I also really liked Close-Up.

Is Ali: Fear Eats the Soul considered underrated?

I was going to sit out this flash sale because I got two great Criterions today. Now I may have to jump in anyway. Damn you!

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I've been looking for something to add to The Asphalt Jungle and His Girl Friday since The Exterminating Angel went OOS and I totally forgot about that.

I just placed my sale order and grabbed the following:
Seconds
Don't Look Now
One-Eyed Jacks
Cat People
With this order I earned a $50 GC, which is nice.

Re: Under-rated Criterions. Honeymoon Killers was much better than I thought it would be. I know that sounds like faint praise, but it was really quite good.
