Not necessarily. I have a few of their blu-rays that are not region locked.

Thanks for the pointer, I'll be keeping my region-free eyes open to see if this turns out to be among them.

Where did you order from ya bastard?? I have been stuck watching my wife's crappy off-studio non-anamorphic pixellated crappy faux-stereo DVD that has some crappy trailer attached to the front end of the movie for years now. She's the one who introduced me to the film when we met, and I never bothered springing for the Criterion DVD.

This is probably the movie I was hoping Criterion would release on Blu the most, but never actually expected it!

How is the packaging for Breathless? Is it everything the picture made us hope and dream for?

Off topic, but since Kubrick is part of the CC, it sorta is on topic.

Did anyone see that video of/attend the screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey the other night and see the guy tripping on acid during the Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite sequence? HOLY ****. Scary, hilarious, and pathetic all at once.

I just wish I could say that Kiarostami was the deciding factor in my speedy pre-order...

Didn't see...... but I must admit to watching 2001 ASO on "chapter-repeat" for an extra 45 minutes or so once...... unbeknownst to me, or the other 5 or 6 people there (yeah... spell checker says that's not right...... but I'm too lazy to learn to spell )

Actually, in fact, it happens to be true, that you are correct, and it is in deed confirmed and verified that it will in fact be in a digipack.

Finally made the plunge and got my first Criterion Blu's. 'For All Mankind', 'Black Narcissus', and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' is on the way.

Yeah I was there, LOL... it made the experience memorable. On the other hand, it was a remarkable, newly-struck 70mm print from the archive of the Academy... looked beautiful.

Question for you guys:

If Criterion.com offered a membership with these benefits would you subscribe?
-10% discount on all orders
-Standard flat rate $2.99, 2-day UPS $4.99
-Spending goals (ie. hit $150 get $5 gift card, etc)
-Hidden benefits (receive the films early. CC would never advertise this but we know they often ship well before release date)

If it made the price comparable to Amazon I'd be all over it. How about you?

No cause the shipping rates for Canada from Criterion are a bit insane.

Hey CG, I have to respect blu-ray.com to not discuss the Blu-ray PQ and AQ on here until after they post their review but I will say that if you love "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", you will love this release as the special features are quite lengthy, informative and just a delight to watch. Especially the near hour long documentary on the man/novel that the film was based on. Also, to hear people's experience of working with Oshima.

Axel Music is a good place for buying items, but I don't think their prices are too competitive. I think sometimes you can find some deals, but nothing too special. If you wanna know their prices, you should just look up the website.
