Bonus points for using a teal smiley.

The Tarkovsky films aren't rumored, they are confirmed by Mosfilm. They have 5: Solaris, Ivan's Childhood, Stalker, The Mirror, and Andrei Rublev.

If I was Criterion I'd announce the Tarkovskys as an Eclipse set, just to watch everyone freak out.

But I think we're one the same side of this argument anyway, if you're linking to Kalat's article? Which article I think makes all the salient points about why complaining about upgrades on the same format is ridiculous anyway.
You're right, I should have clarified that I meant something like 2014-2015 onwards, when lots of 4K-sourced releases started appearing; and I don't only mean a particular title but the general state of the market as well. Of course, that mindset was non-existent in 2011, Blu-rays were great by definition then. And that's why I have lots of Blu-rays with outdated transfers from those times (but most of them still look nice if you don't sit too close)...

Do we know if Solaris and Ivan's Childhood will be re-released with a new scan?

Freaking out often gets results.

Remember the guy that hounded Criterion every day about Godard's Weekend until they finally gave in and admitted it was coming soon?

Also, when Everlasting Moments and Close-Up were first announced they were DVD-only. Within 24 hours Criterion announced they would be on blu-ray.

Should The Grand Budapest Hotel get some sort of rumored honorable mention?

Nice to see classic Hitchcock in The Lodger. Have wanted to see this movie for a long time.

After a title is announced, how long is it until it is actually released?

Three months.

Wednesday's announcement, for example, will be for June 2017 releases.

The remaining Chaplin and Lloyd films are still coming at some point, too.

I just hope that last month's upgrades were a return to them being a regular inclusion in the announcements. That said, I'm hoping for a Fellini title like Juliet of the Spirits or La Strada.
