Chasing Amy?? Nah, I don't think they'll make money back on that release. Good movie though. I've been that Jason Lee character at times, a sarcastic d***, minus the subliminal homosexual attraction to best friend.
Could Tree of Life get a double release wth Voyage of Time? I lost track if that even was released, though websites say last year. Tree of Life has a great blu ray already, but I would def double dip on that. It's my second favorite movie on my personal list.
GreatOwl knows the theater Tara on Cheshire where I saw it three times in two weeks. I hope that is still open.

I doubt it. They both look pretty good as is.

Is this quadraplex [originally Lowe's Tara] where you're referring to or just a weird coincidence? https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...+bridge+road&*

Quick question,

I received a damaged booklet with my copy of Rosemary's Baby from Amazon. Will Criterion replace it, or do I have to deal with Amazon?

I somehow doubt that, given that we just had Roma come out on blu. I think they like to space them a little. Maybe one later in the year but I'd not be surprised if they waited until next year.

You're probably right but I'm at the age when "wait until next year" gets to be more than

Never say never but so far Criterion have not re-issued any existing HD release with a newer scan. I think they will look for a lengthy interval between such releases so as to not annoy customers into multi-buys.

Denis Villeneuve phantom page added

It probably means nothing. With thst said, Polytechnique, and Maelström are two of his most notable films with no media releases here in the US.

The Silence of the Lambs is "rumored"? Is there anything to support this rumor, other than the fact that it was also released on DVD by Criterion, almost two decades ago? Like something more recent?

I thought that Shout might be getting it, since they were able to snag another big MGM catalogue title - Carrie. But I hope Criterion get it. And speaking of MGM catalogue, wasn't Midnight Cowboy another "rumored" Criterion release for a while now? I can't remember the last time we've seen an MGM release of one of their own older catalogue movies.

The Kevin Smith generation of fans are probably those who actually buy the most physical media tbh

I saw The Tree of Life at Tara Cinemas as well. Such an amazing experience.

Tara Cinemas is still open, but I have not been there in a couple of years. I bought a home up in Kennesaw, Georgia almost two years ago, and Tara is quite a drive from where I live.

I'd be happy with Polytechnique, although there is a cheap Canadian disc already available. I'd really love a stacked edition of Enemy though.

It's likely either going to be Criterion or Shout, with Arrow having an outside shot. The reason I said it could be Criterion is because in November, Criterion posted that the film was back on their channel on FilmStruck along with the previouslt OOP commentary track. Some users confirmed that the Criterion intro played before the movie. I don't know how they could do that without having secured some rights again.

Quote:
Tonight, on our new streaming service, FilmStruck, we’re thrilled to present the first of our Friday double features. As one of the programmers of the Criterion Channel—our very own playground within this new digital space—I took sardonic delight in pairing two chilling serial-killer films: M (1931), in which director Fritz Lang and star Peter Lorre set a sky-high standard for the form, and The Silence of the Lambs (1990), which brought it to a peak of popularity and acclaim as one of just three productions in Academy Award history to sweep the top five awards.

Oscar winners Jonathan Demme (best director), Anthony Hopkins (best actor), Jodie Foster (best actress), and Ted Tally (best screenplay) appear on a vintage commentary track for the latter film, resurrected for the Criterion Channel after years of being out of print.

My vote is for August 32nd on Earth. I've no idea if its any good, but it's the only one of his films I don't have on disc.

If you contact Amazon, they'd probably offer you a partial refund or offer to replace the whole package if you send it back. If you contact Jon Mulvaney at Criterion they might be able to just replace the booklet for you if that's what you're after. So long story short, contact Criterion first.

I feel Criterion struck a deal with Lionsgate and A24 the earth will certainly implode because nothing humanity has ever accomplished is worthy enough of that partnership.
