Well I did, problem is, my day job has computers which block lots of websites. Axel Music is one of them. Rather than wait until I get home from my second job at 10pm, I thought someone here would be nice enough to help a brother out.

To anyone else who may be able to help, it would be greatly appreciated.

-10% discount on all orders
-Standard flat rate $2.99, 2-day UPS $4.99

-Hidden benefits (receive the films early. CC would never advertise this but we know they often ship well before release date)

If it made the price comparable to Amazon I'd be all over it. How about you?
No. 50-50 I got damaged merchandise from them. Not worth the hassle to me.

I do wish they were a little bit cheaper but it's the best place for me to buy US blu-rays since i don't have to worry about customs.

Most movies are priced at $32.58 with a few $1 cheaper or more expensive. Movies like The Leopard and box-set are more. Shipping is $2.58, more for stuff like The Leopard and box-sets.

My personal feeling is that because of the B&N 50% off sale, Deep Discount 45% off sale and whenever Amazon has their 50% off sale, these sales happen nearly quarterly (with the B&N as the big one, twice a year). From the various posts that I'm seeing on threads, more people are now being more willing to wait for the sales than purchase and pre-order.

Granted, these are forum posts but I do still see the hardcores still willing to support their favorite distributor and some of these hardcores worried how these sales will affect the companies. But I do see Criterion and KINO fans waiting for these sales, but that could be people who are more vocal than those who are hardcores that won't mind spending more money for a release to get it now.

The fact is that the Criterion Collection has set the standard but we are now going to see other smaller companies who specialize in foreign cinema, silent films and important films even more.

Personally, the company that has really done a great job is Eureka!/Masters of Cinema by reaching out to their customers via the newsletter and offering pre-orders to sales on other items. Also, it's great to see how they maintain that communication with their

Also, I like what Artificial Eye and BFI are doing as well with keeping prices quite reasonable and having many releases region free.

If Criterion implemented a membership, I'm sure that many hardcore Criterions fans will join but at the same time, as long as these 50% off sales continue, I can see many more people waiting for July and November instead.

It looks like Best Buy is not stocking Breathless or the new Studio Canal titles.

I dont think the sales hurt Criterion as they dont change their wholesale prices to retailers. It is the retailers that are probably the ones actually close to breaking even with these sales. They are just trying to get people to keep buying things from them when the sales are over. Unfortunately DD probably does not know that their ridiculous shipping is making them lose customers.

And to everyone that had problems with the red shoes and black narcissius orders.....I just went online and reserved a copy in the store, went down and picked them up on release day. Its pretty great, if the store has the item in stock you can just have them hold it for you for up to 3 days. And they send you a text message when they take it off the shelf and reserve it. Usually takes about 30min

The 2 stores near here never have many of the Criterion of Studio Canals. I've written emails to whomever it concerns about this. They write back with a pre-conceived letter saying they have new hits available on release day.

I'm comfortable with Amazon and waiting for them in the mail... saves the hastle of waiting in long lines and not having to deal with the traffic.

A year ago I would have been all over it. But Amazon has raised all of there prices on Criterion titles since then. Interesting program but it wouldn't really be worth it.

I really like the Criterion Collection and I buy titles when I can but due to their pricing, it's just not something I can do that often outside of a sale.

Best Buy's pricing for films is all over the board and with no rhyme or reason. I've seen Monsoon Wedding Blu for $42

Yeah I checked store stock on BREATHLESS last week and said NOT AVAILABLE so I figured they would not stock it. Charade says coming soon meaning usually they will stock it.

I will look for CHARADE this Friday or so. I checked my local store today when I picked up Seven and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (24.99) at Best Buy.

Picked up Breathless at Barnes with membership and 5.00 off coupon. The case for mine was MINT.

Just got Breathless delivered and, WOW! For anyone like me that was concerned about it being a Digipak, don't be. It's terrific. It's not at all like the flimsy, easily bendable stuff they were releasing in the beginning with Blu Ray. It's very well done. Now I can't wait to see how everything else turned out

Where did you order it from? Usually Criterion's site has it delivered to me a day before release day, but not this time. Still waiting for it.

Amazon. Interesting, I didn't know you get the Criterion new releases a day early when you order from their site. I usually just go through Amazon. I'm gonna have to consider that next time around.

Sometimes, people do. Not all the time. There has been a rare instance or two when I have received the discs a whole week before the release date from Criterion. Again, though, it's rare.

Yeah, I ordered alot from Criterion and they ship with UPS and arrives a day early everytime (I live less than 30 mins away from the warehouse). This time, a rare USPS ship, which in result, has a different shipping time (AKA, they are holding on to it for days until they feel like taking it 20 mins to the post office by me). If I knew where it was at exactly, I would prob go pick it up. But I could of went to a Barnes & Noble if I wanted to do that s*** and saved $6 on shipping.

Getting my copy from Netflix to tide me over till the next B&N sale. I figure 1 viewing from now till Nov should suffice, unless someone has a copy for sale on the forum.

FYI...both are streamable on NetFlix.

Breathless looks pretty good...Charade is not a very good transfer, so not as good as a stream.
