Seconded, that's an excellent line-up. Also I would recommend looking for Days and Nights in the Forest (not out on blu, but I believe there's a DVD). You can consider the Apu Trilogy once you have gone through these (I personally think the trilogy is a little overrated on account of its being more exotic to Western audiences, and lacks the subtlety and layering of his other films)

Will we ever get a blu-ray release for Kurosawa's Drunken Angel and Stray Dog?

That must have been one hell of a show. I wish I could have seen them in their prime with Pete and Ox alive.

Didn't they hold the record for the loudest concert ever recorded at one time, or was that Deep Purple I am thinking of? I know that Pete is partially deaf from their shows.

The loudest concert I've ever been to, oddly enough, is Tori Amos. I've seen her twice, and wasn't right up against the stage like I've been for Van Halen, Rush, Dream Theater, Extreme, etc. And this was in an open air venue in Dallas (at the time, the Coca Cola Starplex). Holy God, I thought I was going to go deaf, she was so loud. But wow, she rocked hard. Great live performer, that little pixie Tori is!

I hope so. My film noir Blu-ray collection will be incomplete until those two show up in the format.

Stray Dog is my second favorite Akira Kurosawa film behind Seven Samurai.

Just finished the Before Trilogy last night. Second time viewing the series. Quite amazing. Some PQ issues in the second film but I totally love the job Criterion did overall with the films.

Think of Swingers without the Vince Vaughn annoyance factor, and you won't be too far off base.

I'd definitely buy a Criterion Clueless Blu-ray as well, though. It would bum me out somewhat, because I still miss Brittany Murphy, but it's a fun movie across the board.

It is the most likely of her films to get the Criterion treatment. This year is its 35th anniversary too (which is crazy).

I'm pretty surprised by this honestly. Could never get into this movie.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High I could see getting a Criterion, hopefully they'd be able to find and restore the added footage from the TV version back into the theatrical version. Always loved those Spicolli scenes that aren't in the theatrical.

I'm going to have to check this film out. I love Swingers. Actually one of Vaugn's only performances I enjoy.

Johnny Dangerously has never had a blu ray release. Just saying, as they say.

Does anyone remember anything from the New Year's drawing regarding Clueless? Wouldn't the lack of a clue be the ultimate clue for a movie called Clueless?
[Show spoiler]

Love the Amy Heckerlinig video. If anyone's interested, The Ringer had a nice profile of her back in February:

Yes. If there was a blank space anywhere on this year's drawing, then that would definitely be a clue for Clueless.
