This month is insane. The long awaited Stalker, the War trilogy, and Bresson? Good lord, Criterion!

Great set of announcements! The Bresson came out of nowhere for me - super excited for that one.

It will be interesting to see how much improvement there will be in the War Trilogy compared to the BFI set. It seems from the wording they'll be using the same (or at least older) masters, but one would assume they've done extensive touch up work if that's the case.

& while I'm over the moon about finally getting a release date for Stalker ...... that artwork ......

This is looking like a fun month to me! So happy to see Tarkovsky's Stalker in the collection finally! Also, the Bresson movie L'Argent is quite intriguing, as well as the Rossellini War Trilogy upgrade. Finally, that Albert Brooks film Lost in America is a great, fun summer movie (and well timed for a July release).

Those 3 movies released in 1979, 1983 and 1985 are a bit more contemporary too, which is nice.

Criterion are on a roll with the upgrades, they'll far be outpacing lsst year's efforts at this rate.

Every time someone mentions this movie on blu-ray.com Criterion resets the countdown timer to the title. It's your own fault if you never see it.

Wonder what heavy-hitter they could possibly have for November. I was certain they'd save Stalker for then.

Thumbs up

Wow, I just realized (after a bit of research) that this will be THE FIRST TIME any one of Albert Brooks' films (that he's written and/or directed) are available on the blu-ray format!

WELCOME TO BLU-RAY, ALBERT BROOKS!

May I also add, another awesome addition would be Modern Romance too. Such a brilliant comedy from Brooks.

I love Stalker and I'm stoked for this release (dat cover, though...!).

I love Bresson's black and white work, but his color movies haven't done much for me (L'Argent, Le Diable, Probablement, Lancelot du Lac) and I thought Lost in America was painfully unfunny when I saw it some years ago (a far cry from Real Life).
