Lamb. Everyone missed it, but the clue is really trying to allude to "Wok and Wool". They're hinting at music-themed set

It would be a blessing if Criterion did Up In Smoke.

It seems that Janus Films now has the rights to Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.

I actually think Marked for Death looks excellent.
It does look pretty good. I'm a big early Seagal guy, but I was just messing around. I'd love to see Seagal to sit down for some interview about his films though, because he takes himself so seriously, just for laughs. Something like, "Stabbing William Forsythe in the head with a corkscrew at the end of 'Out for Justice' really symbolized my struggle to break free from being pigeonholed as an action star and move onto more mature projects."

Haha yeah agreed. The only real Seagal films I like are Under Siege and Marked for Death. Out for Justice is fun too.

I haven't seen any of these in over two decades, but Above the Law, Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Out for Justice, and Under Siege made for one hell of an awesome five-movie streak. Steven Seagal lost me after those films, but I sure did have fun watching them during high school and college.

In fact, an old high school friend of mine visited town a few weeks back, and, at one point, we started joking about that scene in Out for Justice where Seagal wraps the cue ball in a towel and goes around the whole pool bar bashing people in the head with it.

*sigh*

(I'm bad...really really bad...about nostalgizing about random old movies out of the clear blue, looking up the Blu-rays on this site right away, and ordering them from Amazon at the drop of a hat. I'm trying hard not to do that right now with these five Seagal films. I'm trying really hard. My still-unwatched Blu-ray stack is obscenely huge.)

Just do it, Owl. You know you'll give in at some point. The Seagal shit is some of the first stuff I picked up when I started buying BDs in 2009. "Above the Law", "Under Siege", and "Under Siege 2" are even available in a nice little 3-pack.

Not right now. I'm going to cruise the five-dollar rack of the big used movie store down the street first, because the chance that at least one of those will be on that rack is probably 100%.

Totally unrelated to anything, but I just revisited La La Land by way of the Blu-ray. It's even better the second go-round.

Why pay $5 for a used copy of one of the movies when you can get this three-pack new for $11?

Thanks, but I'm not a huge fan of Under Siege 2. It's all in good fun, but I'd rather just have the above five that I mentioned.

Having said that, I do love one particular dialogue exchange in Under Siege 2.
"I assumed he was dead!"
"Assumption is the mother of all f**k ups!"

We used to quote that at work back in the late 1990s.

Incidentally, I love the fact that someone with the nickname, DaBargainHunta, brought this Seagal 3-pack to my attention.

Haha. I can't take credit though - mja345 mentioned it right above me.

But I do own the three-pack. I think it's worth it even if you only like Under Siege 1 and Above the Law. Besides, after you watch US1, you'll inevitably want to watch US2 just to get "the rest of the story." Then again, I can happily never see Matrix 2 or 3...

Maybe a Lynch collection of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me grouped with Lost Highway, Inland Empire, The Elephant Man, and The Straight Story is what we will will get.
I was thinking (hoping) the same thing! Out of the bunch I could see this pairing especially well with Lost Highway and Inland Empire.

I won't complain if this clue is really for Fire Walk with Me, but I would have preferred to see Inland Empire get a release from them (that film needs to be more accessible on video, at least some kind of R1 Blu-ray release - hopefully Criterion is the one to do this in the near future).

For any Haxan fans you're welcome if CC announces an upgrade. Using murphy's law I just bought the DVD.

Prepare to be disturbed. I borrowed the Häxan DVD from a friend several years back, and, although I'm a jaded horror fan, the movie rattled me a bit deep down inside. The imagery is just incredibly unsettling in a few scenes.

That said, it's a truly great flick.
