You're not wrong. I would be.On the other hand I can think of much more appropriate clues if it were Sweet Sixteen. (16 slices of cake maybe?)

The Breaking Point is excellent news. Always wanted to see this Have and Have Not adaption from which I understand is closer to Hemingway's story. Now could Criterion release the 1931 The Maltese Falcon?

![]() ![]() Let's boycott Criterion until they announce it. Don't scare me with that Sweet Sixteen theory. This is the best hope we have for Sixteen Candles getting a 4k remaster. Maybe Arrow. If this ever got another blu ray from anyone other than those two labels then it'll just be a reissue of that current transfer. Last edited by spanky87; 05-17-2017 at 01:00 AM. |

Thanks for the heads up! Will keep it in mind. Possibly one for the B&N sale (although being from the UK it's still expensive for me to import even at those times, hence being a bit picky).

For Matthau, I'd like a remaster of A New Leaf, with deleted footage that has survived, an introduction by Scorsese (he's a fan), and an audio commentary/interview with Elaine May. And a digital copy of the original script.

Gotta admit, I was never totally convinced about the Sixteen Candles clue. Criterion has some oddballs in their collection but I still was skeptical. Mja's theory makes a ton more sense to me |

If you guys had to pick two of these, in terms of the best film and also least likely to get a blu-ray release, which would it be?
Ashes and Diamonds Kapo La Strada (getting this one for sure, but chances it'll be announced for blu?) Loves of a Blonde Pygmalion Knife in the Water (pretty sure the ending was ruined for me ![]() |

I've seen five of them and, in terms of quality", I'd rank them "La Strada", "Ashes and Diamonds", "Kapo", "Loves of a Blonde", then "Knife in the Water". |

Whoa, I can't believe we talked about Walter Matthau and I didn't even mention Charley Varrick.
Seriously, I gotta take one for the team and just order the import already. |

And no offense to any teens here, but if I remember being 15 properly (which could be true, or not), and being in HS -- a lot of us weren't very smart or realistic. And sheesh, I was middle class, going to school in Grosse Pointe, had friends ... etc. Mia's life was totally empty. All she had was this -- granted, totally unrealistic -- dream. I saw her as a very tragic, broken character. |
