Uh-oh, I'm sensing an evening of Wes Anderson-related "discussions" for the evening ahead.

Just got in the mail this morning my copies of

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Thirst-Blu-ray/11398/

and

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/A-Dir...Blu-ray/13511/

The digipaks are a beautiful thing to behold. Makes me wish I had known about these disks earlier so I could have grabbed some of the earlier digipaks that are now unavailable :\

Here is the thread in case anyone is interestered

https://forum.blu-ray.com/asia/12896...ay-thread.html

I figured that this thread is basically all film lovers on here and these may interest some of you.

You can basically watch all these CJ releases on youtube so you can check them out before buying. I just watched Tazza last night and am thinking about Haeundae for tonight

Off topic from both Criterion and Wes Anderson....... I got my copy of Charade today from Amazon via Prime, and it's not so much the fact that I got it, but how I got it....

I was coming home, and there was a car parked in driveway, so I sat in the street waiting for it to leave...... it was a "Precision Delivery" car per the decal on the door...... I saw the woman walk to my front door, open the storm door, drop something in between it and the main door (which turned out to be Charade) and then leave....... it was a late 90's Toyota Camry with a cheap-o logo on the side for the delivery service, yet the Blu-ray was in Amazon's normal packaging......

Is this something other people have seen??? Is UPS no longer handling all the Prime shipments? Perhaps they were delayed in sending it to me, and used this company to rush it out?????

Like I said.... off-topic.... just something unexpected.... but either way, I got my copy in the "mail" so all is good I guess.

Sorry, I don't have an answer to Beta Man's post, but I'd like to supplement it with another question.

I stopped using Amazon Prime for a short while to save some pennies and I've got no real room to complain when Prime customers get things before I do. But I've noticed that Criterion titles take forever.

Most titles ship on their release date or shortly thereafter, but Criterion titles ship sometimes weeks after release. Anyone else have this issue? Just me? I'll shut up now.

I noticed on their FAQ for PRIME etc... they do say they will sometimes use other shippers etc to get packages delievered. I have so far had all mine delievered by UPS and VIGILANTE is on the way for tomorrow. Already snagged Charade at Best Buy... also I won't order any Criterion titles online. I am far too anal retentive over my cases. Breathless took two locations for a mint copy and I mean MINT! looks great.

Amazon all of a sudden started using LaserShip for my Prime deliveries a few months back. Basically it was some bloke in his personal car appearing when he felt like it. After one MIA shipment and two missed delivery dates I had to contact them and, in my most pleasant tones, ask them what the benefits of Prime were again.

I haven't seen him since.

He must have been thinking of the next part for Bill Murray when that came across the screen during the initial editing. It's an honest mistake....

I know. I was just messing around. Me and Wes are good buddies. We hang out and shop for new snobby clothes all the time. He buys clothes though for his stuffed animals that matches his wardrobes, so that's kind of weird. But other than that.....

DVDBeaver's review of "The Darjeeling Limited" was posted last night, as well, so I think all is right with the world... concerning the transfer, of course.

Also, did everyone see the contest that Rhino is having...

MONKEES MANIA!!!
  • A copy of HEAD (DELUXE EDITION) boxed set
  • A copy of America Lost & Found: The BBS Story, a six-disc Blu-Ray boxed set (features Head - Easy Rider - Five Easy Pieces - The Last Picture Show - The King Of Marvin Gardens - Drive, He Said - A Safe Place)
  • A limited-edition "St. Matthew/Lady's Baby" 7" signed by Micky Dolenz
  • A copy of Monkee Business biography by Eric Lefcowitz
  • A copy of The Monkees: The Day By Day Story By Andrew Sandoval

There is also an additional 10% off from Criterion.com with the promo code RHINO. I'm not sure if this only works for the BBS boxset, or not, though. I haven't tried it out.

I am trying to find the BBS Set for sale on their site........ no luck.... It's a terrible site to search on, that's for sure.

EDIT:

I found it..... the "RHINO" code is for Criterion's site...... the link takes you directly to Criterion's site for ordering..... so it'd be $90 or so.

Well, Amazon USA has a release day arrival pre-order guarantee now for music and movies. I have Amazon Prime, though, so I'm not sure if it only applies to Prime members or if it's a guarantee for other customers, as well.

Here is Amazon USA's link for "Release Date Delivery." It explicity state the continental US throughout, so Amazon.ca must not have that program implemented.

It might be prime yes, there is no such thing or guarantee I suppose from Amazon.ca, it's to bad. It does travel fast once it's ship. It's from Toronto and I am in Montreal and within a day I get it. Just sad it's not early like some of you, really want Charade

Yeah, I understand. My copy of "Charade" is "out for delivery" right now according to the UPS site. Amazon USA just started the 'release date delivery' option within the past year or so. Since then, though, I've had no problems unless UPS screws up somewhere in-transit.

I'm curious - why do you use .ca instead of .com? Are the prices of the Canadian site better for a Canadian shopper? I've used the .com site for years to order books, and with the near parity of the currencies, and shipping costs not too bad (er, I think!), I don't even bother with the Canadian site. Perhaps I should re-evaluate that assumption?
