I'm grabbing it. I'm an Ingrid nut, obviously (I wrote her bio on our site), and while I know some of the footage is already in the Three Films by Roberto Rossellini set, I wouldn't miss the doc by itself. No way, no how.

Now, Criterion just needs to grab Gaslight to make me a truly happy boy. That would give me ten of her films on blu.

I wonder if Criterion got William Wyler's Dodsworth from Warner. Warner's had the rights to the Goldwyn films for five years now and they've released almost every well-known title on DVD and/or Blu (Best Years of Our Lives, Ball of Fire, Guys and Dolls, Stella Dallas, Pride of the Yankees) and many of the lesser-known titles on DVD-R through the Warner Archive... all except for Dodsworth. The old HBO and MGM DVDs are going for around $40 or $50 on eBay. Wishful thinking?

Are those articles poorly worded, or are they trying to tell us that these will be a series of eclipse releases?

I want to see this but does it have any replay value? I've never watched a documentary more than once.

Two very different looks in my opinion. Thus my comment.

With a few exceptions I don't prefer blondes.Ravens, redheads & brunettes please

I'm lucky in that my girlfriend will be blonde (most of the time), redhead, or light brown, depending on her mood. But I admit that blonde is my favorite now.

For $30.90 on Amazon (plus my free shipping from Prime)?

Oh, hell yes! MSRP is $69.95, so even when B&N does its half off, that's still $35.

I'm putting together a rather nice Kurosawa collection; Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Rashomon, Ikiru, Seven Samurai, Throne of Blood, and the StudioCanal 4k import of Ran.

I assume some (the big titles) will be on Blu-ray, while the others will come via Eclipse.

Are you aware of the French Blu-ray releases of Stray Dog, Drunken Angel, and more?

I had heard about Janus acquiring this last year. Apparently, the Film Foundation and Martin Scorsese made this happen. So, we know for certain that Criterion will release "Night of the Living Dead" soon. But, I keep hoping that, since there's really been no word stateside, yet, that Criterion might also release "Dawn of the Dead", as well. That would be great....

Yes indeed. They look like they'd be nice but none of them appear to be English friendly (not that that's *always* a deal breaker).

Just weird that the article specifies that Criterion releases blu-ray (so you would assume they aren't using 'dvd' as a catch all term for all types of discs) and then only says they'll be releasing the films on dvd.

This brings up something I've always wondered if anyone does this. Has anyone watched a foreign film without subtitles enabled? I think this might work with a film of which I'm very familiar.

Since Criterion has released other Janus films hopefully we'll get a Criterion for Drugstore Cowboy.

I know what you're saying.

I just have a hard time believing Janus will release the films theatrically (probably with a new restoration as I imagine some of these films are in poor condition), but not on Blu-ray.
