If you want a heartbreaking film wait until The Breaking Point comes out. It's as tough as any Noir you'll ever see but it
[Show spoiler]ends with an incredibly haunting image.

It's a shame that it's being released the day after! the sale ends.

It's not happy, that's for sure. Brilliant film, and I'm sad that so many seem to take it down. Fincher always makes it work. I've never seen him screw it up.

It's probably on the bottom of his films, personally I don't mind the alternate take. At the end of the day, it was down to the studio's fault with their interference, not Finchers, but there is always Alien3.

He won't even talk about it

Is Benjamin Button ever available in store? There's like 3 different versions of it on B&N's site.

That last section showing the cast is a real heartbreaker, and the last shot of the backwards-running clock, as the waters from Hurricane Katrina pour in, is such a doleful, yet beautiful image.

Am I the only person here who isn't buying as many Criterions as I used to during sales?

Please, someone out there, tell me I'm not crazy.

It's not just you. I don't plan on getting too many this time around, either. My Blu-ray budget is being spread out pretty thin between all the boutiques coming out with good stuff.

I don't buy anything. I've been there and done the whole "own the entire collection" and it just isn't for me anymore.

I have my favorites and I buy the ones I want (a rare few) on release date.

Ok, gang!

The Film Forum in NYC just released their repertory calendar through October and they are running a two week run of the new 4K restoration of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD in October, and the listed distributor is. . . JANUS FILMS! So it looks like the Criterion is a definite!

Anything from Criterion I'm 100% interested in I usually pick up on street date, like Straw Dogs. Sales don't necessarily entice me to pick up stuff I'm on the fence on, mainly because the stuff they release really isn't my cup of tea.
