I watched
[Show spoiler]FWWM last week with my wife, and I feel like parts of the transfer seemed soft. Of course this could be the source material, I honestly do not know. If not, I feel like the transfer could use some improvemet in some of the earlier scenes. By the end though, especially the night scenes, the transfer seemed pretty top-notch.

Janus Films will probably try to get some touring mileage out of it before it actually hits disc.

Vampyr is the least of Dreyer's films after Master of The House imo, but it's still pretty damn good.

I really enjoyed Vampyr and I will upgrade this to blu-ray without hesitation.

I am a fan of Barry Lyndon, too, and I will probably get the Criterion blu even though the existing blu-ray is decent.

I am unfamiliar with The Lure and Personal Shopper although they sound vaguely familiar... I have a mind like a steel trap: a rusted one.

[Show spoiler]Personal Shopper for me and that's it. Already have FWWM and Barry Lyndon. I wish they would focus on stuff that don't have blu-ray releases.

No NOTLD is a massive dissapointment.

Too bad Organism wasn't included as an extra on the Koyaanisqatsi Criterion release.

I did read about that. I'll check out Organism, now if I can or when I get home.

Wow. I did not expect...any of that really. I should have seen
[Show spoiler]the Twin Peaks movie
coming, but I kinda forgot about it. But
[Show spoiler]Barry Lyndon
is the biggest stand-out. Holy crap, assuming it'll be decked out with good extras and a good transfer, it's going to be spectacular.

[Show spoiler]Vampyr will also be a must-have for me. I remember it being very atmospheric and mellow (in a good way)
.

I'll gladly pick up all three of those.
[Show spoiler]Yep, even Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, despite owning the classic series already. The show kinda lost me, but I dug the movie.

EDIT:
Uhhh...are we supposed to spoiler-tag the titles now or not anymore? I'm confused.

How do we know Criterion hasn't created new supplements?

You forgot the other two posters above that one. I think folks who don't want to know should just avoid this thread until Criterion makes their official announcement.

Sure, we know how it will end before it starts, but the trip from a to b challenged my willingness to finish the film. Replay value = ZERO. My recommendation: save your money for something better .
Yeah honestly I've only watched 30 minutes of it since I bought it on its release date and still haven't had the motivation to finish it. Just hasn't grabbed me at all

I'm glad I upgraded "A Man Escaped" instead of grabbing this, it was in my hand.

Tried to get all the Bresson on blu. Think there's only 3 ATM.

I've always enjoyed Martin's work. He was brilliant in Ed Wood. Well deserved Oscar.

I'd watch it tonight in his honor, but I'm still waiting for Amazon to ship it.

This is becoming a reoccurring thing with them. They put movies on sale, and then don't have stock for weeks. I'm still waiting on Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows; that was ordered on June 6th. And I just cancelled my order for Contagion after two months.

First, none of us knows what their release of FWWM will offer compared to the box set version. Second, we don't know the agreements which led to its release. Perhaps the studio wanted FWWM to stand out there on its own, separated from the set, and did some bargaining with Criterion for certain titles. It's such a logical flaw to bring up a different Lynch film when we have no idea whether they have the ability to license it, or whether they alread have, or whether they're waiting for a new scan, etc..This release isn't taking the place of a different Lynch film, that's completely flawed logic.

But let's say this is a rare time where the Criterion release is completely unnecessary, that still hardly means they're not focusing on putting out stuff completely new to BD. They put out on average 6 releases a month, plenty of stuff to choose from in any given year. Why people complain so much about titles they have no intention of buying is beyond me, just ignore it, and buy something you're actually interested in.

It makes sense in that it can do compound marketing with the new series. Not all that exciting, but I understand why they're doing it now.

1. I'm not sure one has anything to do with the other (and if it does, I don't know that it's in a negative way).

2. I think all of
[Show spoiler]Lynch's
feature length films have blu releases. I could be wrong as I'm no expert on this director, but what is still not released on blu?

Well when you have Ordet and Day of Wrath under your belt (I havent yet seen Gertrud), the bar is pretty high!

[Show spoiler]Lynch films not on Blu-Ray in the US:

Elephant Man
Wild at Heart
Lost Highway
The Straight Story
Inland Empire
