October sounds great; three new ones for me. But, if Fire Walk With Me has nothing new to offer from the box set. I'll pass on that one.

A 4K remaster of Bodies, Rest and Motion (1993) will be released in 2018 and it may be coming out via Criterion.

The reason I say "may" is because in his Instagram post, director Michael Steinberg uses several hashtags and I assume he is just listing the film's achievements (Sundance and Cannes, Criterion Collection release). I know Criterion released the film in the past on Laserdisc, but this film doesn't really scream Criterion home video release (at least not to me).

If those are the October titles, then I'll probably only get Vampyr and Personal Shopper. I already have Barry Lyndon as part of the Kubrick bluray collection I own. I'm guessing that NOTLD will be #900.

One ongoing disappointment from Criterion is that we still don't have any news of 4K UHD. With Disney now on board this should trigger a giant market swing to 4K.

Would like this to happen for Criterion ASAP.

I can't imagine Criterion not trying their hardest to push out NOTLD in October. It'll probably come in a few months after its Janus screening.

900 will most likely either go to Grand Budapest or The Tree of Life I'm predicting.

Odd that they haven't officially made an announcement yet.

Couldn't be happier about
[Show spoiler]Barry Lyndon
. For no real reason I've avoided picking up the barebones release, which makes this one a no-brainer.

Which one is that?

I'm not sure I quite understand the concept of seamless branching.

Seconded on The Lady Eve and Passion of Joan of Arc(yes I know there's a nice Eureka version in the UK, but that isn't an option for me at the moment).

Criterion just posted a screenshot of

It's a way to get multiple cuts of a film onto one disc. I'm pretty sure it was more common in DVD days. I don't know if it's even used anymore. It still makes it onto plenty of peoples wishlist for any movie with more than one cut is announced.

I think the odds of 3rd party labels, including Criterion, going UHD is very low. Filmstruck is fare more likely to be their 4k service.

Which, for most people's connections, would be the streaming equivalent of drinking a steak through a straw.

Don't be disappointed with Criterion, be disappointed with their customers. This is the company that had to stop releasing dual format editions because they got so many complaints about not selling dvd only editions. Does this strike you as a group ready for a jump to another new format?

If Lynch doesn't want it, then they won't do it. That's why.
