So your problem is the length of the film rather than his actual performance?

I have two problems with Being There: 1)its length. It isn't boring, but i think it would have had more impact if it was slightly shorter. Ashby gives us too much time to figure out what he is doing via seemingly endless repetition; and 2)the 'outtakes'.

Great film, but to me it isn't a masterpiece for those two reasons.

It would indeed be wonderful, but it's not like it was some huge hit or catalog title. I can understand why it's not out yet, just like Bringing Out the Dead and a US release of Kundun, although After Hours is more of a cult hit than the other unreleased Scorsese's.

Universal has released "Clockers" in the UK and it's region free in case you're region-locked.

It's a decent transfer. About the same as most Universal catalog titles. Looks way, way better than the DVD though.

That wouldn't be hard!

His films wouldn't be easy to transfer I'd imagine, esp ones like Clockers and Summer of Sam.
