Of course in the start of all this cathartic excitement after years of people waiting for this moment you would try to be a buzzkill after 2 minutes of knowing Le Samourai is coming to Blu-ray. It says "New high-definition digital restoration," unlike Vampyr or Beyond the Valley of the Dolls for example, so it won't be the same used for the DVD. Especially since Criterion are well aware of the interest in this title, barring any limitations out of their control.

Guess we'll see. But they would be advertising a new scan/master more prominently if it were a new 2K/4K scan, like they always do. So it might be a new master, but from the old scan.
