It played at the Film Forum a few years ago for Alec Guinness's 100th birthday, and the print was in terrible shape, but the whole last reel did *not* have the green stripe that was there on both the Janus VHS and the Criterion DVD, so that was cool to see.
Interesting. If you do import, it would be great to read your thoughts. I buy a lot of BD from overseas, but unfortunately the only two I have from Spain turned out to be bootlegs (Ryan's Daughter and Bell, Book, and Candle).

This saves me a lot of time and allows me to listen to more commentaries.

If the commentator is pointing out something specific in a shot I usually know what they're talking about since I saw the film is fresh in my mind.
I always watch a movie with undivided attention, and then check email and such on my laptop while I'm playing it through again with the commentary track.

In fact, when I post reviews of Blu-rays on this site, it's usually while I'm listening to the commentary track immediately after I've watched the film in question.

I'm always slightly annoyed (in a first-world problems sort of way) when Blu-rays have multiple commentaries. The 40th Anniversary Blu-ray of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has four commentary tracks. I'm always like, "Ain't nobody got time for that."

That one is well loved by Allen fans, and like most of his 90's stuff, has never made it to blu ray (in North America).

I really like 'Deconstructing Harry'. As far as I know, that one never got a blu ray release anywhere. It's definitely not as highly regarded as 'Mighty Aphrodite', but it would be nice if TT or somebody would put it out on blu ray.

Deconstructing Harry is top shelf Allen, a hilarious film. I'd buy it day 1 on blu-ray.

And there are worse things than staring at a 27 year old Mira Sorvino for the better part of two hours.
I've always loved this exchange from the film:

Quote:
Lenny Weinrib (Woody Allen): I'm completely superfluous.

Kevin (Rappaport): Oh, you don't feel good?

Hi everyone, I found a mint copy of the Orphic Trilogy boxset going for 50C$.
It's supposed to be OOP, but Have anyone heard of possible 'Sang d'un poète' and 'Testament d'orphée' Blu upgrades?

Thanks in advance.

I was all set to upgrade myself until I learned what proponents of UHD adoption have been sweeping under the rug this whole time.
Since I wouldn't have a clue where to find that thread, could you give a bit of detail about this with some spoiler tags for those who are interested here?

What software do you use to rip the audio from the disc?

Agreed. I'm a huge Woody Allen fan, and have seen all of his movies. The '90's is one of my favorite decades re: his films. Deconstructing Harry is one of his funniest films from this era - brilliant, with hilarious dialogue. IMHO, DH is right up there with the best of his '90's output, i.e. Husbands & Wives, Mighty Aphrodite, Celebrity, and Manhattan Murder Mystery (all incredible films).

Ha. The strange thing is, Michael Bay is apparently really good at audio commentaries...its no wonder, since his movies are utter trash, its more entertaining hearing him talk over them. Now hearing Affleck trash Armageddon sounds fantastic! Thanks for the tip.

There's probably some Bay commentary out there for his work with Playboy.

As for Armageddon, I'm all for a Criterion release which features a cut edited by Terrence Malick.
