I hope Criterion has the rights to Erich von Stroheim’s Greed. That’s my #1 most wanted title. It’s criminal that it has never been released on DVD or Blu-ray. It was available on iTunes years ago and I kick myself everyday for not purchasing it then. I foolishly thought a physical release couldn’t be far behind.

My next most wanted title is Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. The video presentation on the 2007 Blu-ray is awful. A Criterion edition of The Shining would also be welcome. The colours on the 2007 Blu-ray are wrong and it would be a treat if we could get both cuts of the film in one package. Also, for both Eyes Wide Shut and The Shining, seeing the films in Kubrick’s intended aspect ratio would be nice.

I’d also love to see the debut of the first UHD titles from Criterion. I realize it’s unlikely, but kicking off UHD with 2001: A Space Odyssey would be my fantasy scenario. Either way, it would be nice to see UHD come to the Criterion collection.

Why doesn't Criterion Collection release John Wayne films? I can't figure that out. John Wayne is everyone's favorite cowboy. Lot of people watch Christmas with the Duke marathon on AMC every year. I found Red River

There's also Stagecoach. But I think those are the only ones.

Warner have the rights to a bunch of John Wayne films so it's possible we might see some more through whatever arrangement Warner and Criterion have.

I just watched a DVR recording from about a year ago on TCM of Ucho(The Ear), and I think it would be amazing to see this come to the collection. It started with the Janus Films logo so there could be a chance. Endlessly fascinating and atmospheric film with a great backstory.

Eyes Wide Shut would be amazing, and I think not out of the realm of possibility either.

Along with After Hours I'd love a restored Criterion release of Leaving Las Vegas. One of my all time favorite films

It's such a rewatchable film. I don't know any other director whose films can be rewatched over and over again and never grow old. I always notice new things every time, esp. in Eyes Wide Shut. Same goes for The Shining too.

Criterion The Year of Living Dangerously

I wish to see The Year of Living Dangerously get the Criterion treatment. This title has been neglected long enough. It's my favorite Mel Gibson film (yes, even more so than the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon franchises, good films in their own right). It also made me a fan of Peter Weir. But the heart of the film is Linda Hunt's amazing performance. I've always been intrigued by this film since I was a wee lad. I was introduced to it because my mom had it recorded after The Karate Kid, which I watched frequently, on some old VHS tape in the 80s. Strange double feature, I know.

^ Would so love to see Criterion get The Wrong Box. Michael Caine, John Mills, Ralph Richardson, Dudley Moore, Peter Cook, and Peter Sellers in a black comedy based on a story by Robert Louis Stevenson! And the only release that I know of is a garbage DVD edition. I record it every time it shows up on TCM.

See, I have the UK Blu of Red Road in my yet-to-watch stack. Being Region-free is the best.

Why not make it a double feature with appropriate bonus content?:

According to the Wikipedia entry, Criterion has the home video rights to The Long Voyage Home. Take that for what it's worth.
