Shoot... I'm already regretting canceling Paths Of Glory...... I bet it ends up costing me an extra $4 or $5 for the "Gamble"
If there are no sales elsewhere you can always just buy from Family Video. They almost always charge a reasonable $25.99 for single disc Criterion Blu-Rays. I think shipping is a flat $1.99 regardless of order size and shipping times are pretty good from my past experience. Even the BBS set is only $82.99 right now.

So Friday is going to be the next round of announcements. This month is really anyone's game. There are several rumored titles out there, but nothing indicating what might come in January.

Any guesses? City Lights? Broadcast News? Wall Street? The Game? Kes?

I'll bet there's another Chaplin film in there. So far only Modern Times has been announced and they have rights to many other Chaplin films. But who knows with Criterion. They always seem to come out with an announcement ot two out of the blue. I hope The Game isn't far off.

if you're referring to David Fincher's The Game (don't even know if there is another film with this same title ) there was a thread a few weeks ago saying it was "in the works" and how Fincher was too busy to really have a hand in it (unlike all his other film releases on BD) but i don't think it was being put out by Criterion.

I can't...and I own the MGM DVD as well. I'll buy this at the B & N storefront on release day. All others on my list will wait for the sale.

The statement regarding Fincher's "The Game" was regarding David Prior's involvement with the release... not David Fincher.

Yes, the announcement is always on Criterion's front page. However, you'll always find the announced titles in forums first because Criterion will list them in their 'Coming Soon' section before putting up the full announcement on their front page.

All you charming and charismatic guys, especially CG, will be glad to know that I received my copy of "Seven Samurai" today directly from Criterion.

Also, DVDBeaver has their review/comparison with the MOC DVD up now.

Hahaha... it was just a call-out to the forum peeps. It rhymed with 'sags' but began with the sixth letter of the alphabet.

if i recall Criterion addressed this at some point saying it was "in the pipeline" but that Cuaron wanted to be involved and they were having to find a time when schedules would align.

It was one of the titles announced in the IFC deal (Che, etc) about a year ago. Other titles from this deal that haven't been released yet: Still Walking & Following.
