I know there are rumours of OOP titles be rereleased. Such as Notorious, Spellbound and Chungking Express.

My question is, does anyone have any reason to believe Army of Shadows, Le Cercle Rouge or Pierrot Le Fou may also get a rerelease?

I recently received an ebay gift card and I'm debating picking up some OOP Criterion titles.

Thanks!
If you're region free, I'd pick up the Melville set that came out that includes the three aforementioned films as well as "Le Doulos", "Bob Le Flambeur", and "Un Flic". I don't think there's much chance of Criterion getting their hands on any of the OOP Melville or Godard stuff anytime soon.

I could see "Desperate Living" going to Criterion.

Whichever one is released next, I hope "The Diane Linkletter Story" is included as a bonus feature. It's in such poor taste, even for John Waters, but it's a fascinating experiment.

Warner Archive re-released dvd-rs of Desperate Living and Pink Flamingos last year but did not re-release dvds of Polyester and Female Trouble. I don't know if WB would let Criterion release Desperate Living and Pink Flamingos right after WB put both films back into print, but fingers crossed WB and Criterion work out a deal. The dvds of Polyester and Female Trouble are still OOP though and might be more likely for Criterion releases at this point.

Personally, I want all of John Waters films out on blu-ray, including The Diane Linkletter Story. I don't care if Criterion and/or Warner Archive release them as long as they are strong transfers with John Waters commentaries and contain lots of special features.

Ok, Criterion thread unite and help me choose what to buy. Much like Chidi Anagonye (you should check out The Good Place if you haven't) it's really hard for me making decisiones of any sort. So...His Girl Friday? or I Married a Witch? or Here Comes Mr Jordan? or Only Angels Have Wings?
From that list, which two films would you pick to buy and why.
Thanks!

His Girl Friday and Only Angels Have Wings. I haven't seen Mr. Jordan and despised I Married A Witch.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is news or not, but I had The Long Voyage Home (1940) on my DVR from TCM and watched it today. It opens with the Janus Films logo. This could mean a possible blu-ray is in the future. Has this been rumored previously?

It was licensed from Westchester at the same time as Stagecoach.

Goodness, I'd be over the moon if they put out a boxset of Devor's films! Especially Zoo, Angelyne, & the Woman Chaser

I know he's also got Beyond the Valley of the Dolls and The Honeymoon Killers (I can just picture Divine and David Lochary as the leads if Waters had directed) but what's the last film he has?

In any case, it seems SPC isn't too invested in updating their back catalog to blu-ray, excepting stuff like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. All About My Mother, Talk to Her, 2046, and Cache are all without North American blu-ray releases.

His Girl Friday is one of the all time great comedies and is definitely worth owning. I like all of the rest, but I am probably most partial to Here Comes Mr. Jordan. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them.

His Girl Friday and Here Comes Mr. Jordan are THE two 1st rate films out of those 4, no question. Scripts, direction, performances, the primary & character actors are a joy to watch. They're Classics.

The other two are fun, but just not on the same level.

For those interested, a couple of Bergman titles coming from BFI in the UK:

Also, a fantastic "Kitchen Sink" (mostly) box set:
