I'd Ozu and here's why...

1) you'll be married w/ kids before all of those titles get (proper) Blu-ray releases and 2) ordering from Criterion directly has been (for me) the only guarantee that I'm going to get a mint digipack, or in this case, mint slip boxes.

I tried to order one of the Ozu Eclipse sets from B&N and had 3 different copies sent to me before I just gave up.

My choices were pretty conventional compared to some of you - Silence of the Lambs, Barry Lyndon and Cries & Whispers.

I also got a notification of a gift certificate of 50$. I have to ask, is the cert time-bound or can I use it any time in the future (let's say next year if not sooner)?

It doesn't expire, and can be used at anytime.

It's a criterion.com exclusive, and you get all four movies for $47.50 with the half off promo, as opposed to buying all four individually at MSRP (or half-off MSRP during B&N sales).
Agreed, I got it when it was MSRP and it was well worth it then even at full price.

Night of the Living Dead and Silence of the Lambs should be sitting in my mailbox today through Amazon and Wal-Mart.

Agreed. I got this a few sales ago. Very handsome set.

Unfortunately you still have to add more to get free shipping for it

I do notice that it's sold by Amazon now too, so not an exclusive to Criterion anymore, but I doubt it'll get as cheap anywhere else.

I always wanted to get the Zatochi set, anyone who has it can they answer how the discs are packaged? Do they stack the discs one on top of each other? And how the SlipBox looks?

I think I had a $5 credit somehow (some kind of Facebook promo?) and got it with Jellyfish Eyes (YOLO, right? LOL). I was going to pay roughly the same amount to get just the Hitch set from Costco (it was available there too), but my store never had it. So, in essence, Jellyfish Eyes was "free" in my mind anyway.

Yikes. This was my first time buying from the site and I didn't know about the rewards points. Really tempting to spend another $200 for that $50 cert...

The discs are in thick cardboard sleeves in a sort of book-style packaging Sometimes a little annoying to get out, but I think the set as a whole is beautiful. The movies themselves are just great, I've been watching one every couple of weeks.

The set is amazingly beautiful but I started to notice potential damage and scuffs from the very tight cardboard packaging so I ended up making a customer case for the Blurays and just have both on my shelf.

The Criterion set includes a beautiful book and it is very nice flipping through the discs that are also set up like a book, but I did not feel comfortable leaving in the current packaging.

It may be overkill but I felt much better having them in a customer boxset and printing my own artwork out to match my other Criterions.

I am torn on this sale as I do not know that I NEED multiple titles since I just got Night of the Living Dead and Lone wolf and Cub on sale for cheaper through Amazon. I was wanting to get Stalker but without getting the free shipping it is still cheaper on Amazon. I could certainly force myself to spend 30 more though lol

That's kind of like my Bond 50 set so that's cool. Because I'm thinking of getting it during the next Criterion flash sale or the B&N sale.
