Well, if Criterion could manage to get one out occasionally (without multiple calendar years elapsing), perhaps I wouldn't be kvetching.

I definitely got an Apu vibe while watching The Tree of Wooden Clogs. Be sure to post back after seeing The Emigrants / The New Land... maybe I'll be motivated to pick it up for myself next time.

Yeah!

Please note!
<------------

Ya don't own over 1500 BD titles if you prefer streaming to Blu ray.
But since I already have the Happinet release, I can stream the CC version, and YES, the stream comes in 4K .......so win, win as far as I'm concerned.
The CC version does have better contrast/briteness compared to the Happinet release.

My order shipped this afternoon and I discovered it's coming from Louisville, KY. I find that odd considering that the HQ for Criterion is in NY. You'd think they'd shipped from here for speedier delivery. Kentucky is 4-5 states away, depending on how you travel.

Could be wrong, but I believe NYC is "corporate" HQ, whereas Louisville is the distribution center and fulfills all orders.

It just seems dumb to me. They obviously have a supply of all their movies in NY, because they have plenty for their closet picks. If they didn't have a supply of stock in the basement or somewhere, they wouldn't be able to refill it after each video.

It just seems like a waste of gas to me, those UPS trucks would burn less fuel if they started closer to their destination. Our planet is dying because of all the fossil fuel being burned.

If you are really concerned about the planet, switch to streaming. Then no fossil fuels will be burned.

Outside of Amazon, it seems like everything I order ships from Kentucky. Kentucky seem to be majoring in the three B’s: bourbon, basketball and blu rays.

They're not. In fact they're actually a really rare sight.

Funny, I don’t like a single one of those. I’d much rather Sisters if they were to upgrade a horror title. But I hope they come eventually if someone wants it.

The majority of the time, Amazon ships my stuff from Edison, NJ. On occasion they ship from other places, if the Edison warehouse doesn’t have what I ordered in stock.

Default Shipped Ahoy!

All the way from Kentucky:

If Criterion is listening, it would be great if they released the recent 4K restoration of The Day of The Jackal, or a restoration of their own, chock full of supplements.

While they are at it, why not a restoration of Peter Weir's The Year of Living Dangerously or Gallipoli, and keeping with the Australian vibe, a restoration of Andrew Dominik's The Assassination of Jesse James...

Another title I'd like, perhaps not Criterion-worthy, but without a US disc, is John Boorman's Hope & Glory.

Apologies if this has been asked, but any chance Children of Men gets the criterion treatment?

Sale pickups: OTHELLO, ELECTION, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, YOUNG MR. LINCOLN, and ELEVATOR TO THE GALLOWS.

I’m excited to dig into all of them, despite the fact that my Criterion to-watch list is something like forty films long.

Went into the sale only picking up three titles...ended up placing three orders. It was ridiculous and out of control and Im ashamed lol

Not even listing the titles since the list would be so long it feels like bragging hahah
