I knew it !!! For years, I've known Criterion was going to do Midnight Cowboy, and my patience paid off. First time buy.

And I had no knowledge of any rumors either.

I saw a Danish (I think) film about 30-35 years ago called Twist & Shout. Never ever saw a whimper of a release here in the USA, seems like this film was/is right up Criterion's alley. Hoping to see this released in my lifetime....or at least before I get too old to care.

Midnight Cowboy was rumoured years ago but the consensus on here seemed to be that it wouldn't be released at some point?

Terrible cover.

Had a feeling I'd regret caving it and buying that Balthazar dvd last year too!

Nothing for me with the May releases. This will allow me to concentrate on other films and sales.

still... that MISHIMA DVD set is a thing of beauty....... just wish they replicated it with the Blu packaging.

The Graduation box art has to be the blandest one I’ve seen so far. No one who doesn’t already know what the movie is about is going to buy it.

That is an absolutely terrible cover. It looks like an ad for an ED drug. "This man suffers from erectile dysfunction. Here's how depressed he was before he started taking Cialis."

Awesome month overall though.

It just looks like they put no effort into it. It’s like they were scrambling last minute to put a cover together and just took a still from the film and then went to Microsoft Word and grabbed a random font for the title.

it matches the content of the film itself. just imagine that same face for the 2 hour run time of the film.

On a side note, I believe they are almost done announcing the New Year's drawing already, barring any double clues the three that are left are Bowling For Columbine, The Scarlet Empress, and whatever the tree ends up being.

It looks like the placeholder art they use on sites like Filmstruck, so I'm thinking they'll replace it down the line.
