Haven't seen any of them.
I don't know about Thief, but the other 4 are definitely classics, as far as blind buys go, this is rather safe.

I was lamenting this fact when I was watching Darling a few days ago on TCM. It is unavailable in the US and the DVD long went OOP. Also, I really loved to have The Fallen Idol too. Also its strange that The Lavender Hill Mob UK Blu is Region Free.

Default Received wrong movies

I received my order today from 50% off sale but with wrong movies.
Parcel has my shipping address..movies are different from what I ordered and invoice is on someone else address.
Movies I ordered are Thief, Wages of fear, Days of heaven & the breakfast club.
Movies I received are Ghost World, Safety Last, Rebecca, In a lonely place & Carnival of souls.
I haven't own or ever watched any of these movies. Not sure if I got the better deal but I really wanted to have the ones I ordered from a very longtime especially Thief and Days of heaven.
Sent mail to criterion with pics. Lets see what they say...

Hopefully they send you a replacement order and let you keep the ones you received by mistake!

The wrong ones you got, you won't be needing them so you can give them to me.

Have you ever seen any of the early sound era revue films like Hollywood Revue of 1929 or Show of Shows? It was a simple formula that the studios used to show off their stars or popular music talent of the day-Have a master of ceremonies introduce one act after another and that's pretty much it. Whether you'll like it or not is your tolerance for early talkie stiffness of the performers and the limitations of the sound equipment itself. Two-Strip Technicolor was another early innovation and these revues usually featured it in certain sequences or, in the case of King of Jazz, completely in color.
My favorite era in films is the late '20s to mid '30s so KoJ is a real treat for me.

The other person lives in the same city?

Maybe he is a member of the forum too!

Well, in that case, I hope they let you keep the movies AND send you the correct ones.

The same for the other person.

Boy, if that happens, the next sale they are going to receive way more orders!

I just kinda watch whatever I want whenever. Sometimes I'll re-watch Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master for the umpteenth time rather than breaking into my unopened CC pile. Depends on my mood (which, incidentally, is how my collection is categorized).

But I know I'll get to them eventually.

Number of unwatched discs have no bearing on my purchase habits. 'Get 'em while they're available/on sale, watch 'em when you want.' is my personal philosophy on the matter.

To be honest I'd like to, but between work and grad school sometimes I go months without being able to watch anything. But they're there when I have time off. It's just at the moment I don't have much.

How does categorizing by mood work? If you can give me an example. Thanks [emoji846]

I believe Rob Gordon categorizes his record albums by mood, doesn’t he?
