Thanks for the info. I'll get mine in a week or two since I'm on the opposite side of the world from the UK. I just bought a multi-region BD player last month; a buy well worth the slightly extra cost; and was hoping that those who don't own one would get lucky. At least \After the Storm still has a US release.

I cheated a bit since 4 movies showed up on Friday and I've already watched them (SotL, Eraserhead, Cul-de-sac, and Time Bandits). But from everything else I plan to watch Kuroneko first.

I’m also in the US, albeit the mainland. I ordered mine directly from Arrow - sometimes you pay a little more than Amazon but you get rewards points to decrease the price of future purchases and their standard shipping times have been quick in my experience (just seven days for this set, no more than ten days for my slowest order.) I ordered it on day one all the way back in July last year. It took seven months but it seems to be well worth the wait.

Doesn't look like they are selling those replacements any more. Email them and ask, as they may have some left in their office.

Jeez. I finally stopped ordering from DeepDiscount after years of receiving screwed-up packagings... I fear for my Paris Belongs to Us BD.

They will sell cases, cover wraps, and booklets for $5 each, anything that is still in print that is.

I thought I was the only one. I just got my package containing NotLD and SotL, and I was estatic they finally came, and then this:

This is unacceptable. I swear I opened the package slowly. Should I return my copy?

Guys, everybody that receives something damaged from Criterion needs to contact them via e-mail at orders@criterion.com. Pictures should be included. They need to get on top of this, and fast. Their entire business model relies on shipping of their product, since they have no walk in stores. Let them know you are not only displeased, but that you have shared your plight with the members of this forum.

I would even include a link to the exact page in this discussion where talk of the damaged shipments begins https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...7316&page=8733.

This is completely unacceptable!

There really shouldn't be any label or major retailer out there who would not replace damage that extensive to DVD/BD packaging, and if there is one company out there who won't, they're to be avoided, so really in future folks you ever see something like this you absolutely should contact the people you bought it from.

I consider myself lucky. Had 2 shipments from this flash sale. First came in a cardboard mailer like pictured above, but movies were safe. Second came in box with ZERO packing material. Movies were literally bouncing around inside. But all was safe again, no cracked cases or loose discs. In your case, I would definitely contact for a replacement.

Sorry to hear all the horror stories. I am glad I didn't order from them during the flashsale. I have had great luck with Amazon lately, NOTLD, Breakfast Club plus other movies. I just ordered Safetly Last! from Amazon but after boasting it will probably arrive a mangled mess.

I'm sorry your copy arrived damaged. Definitely return it!

On another note, it looks like Hannibal himself got into the Criterion Closet and sliced his teeth through that spine. (no pun intended)

And this is why I pay a little extra and go to Barnes and Noble. I don't trust online shipping with Criterions, especially the paper ones.

Lucky for us, we have brick and mortar stores like B&N here in our cities.

Got Jeanne Dielman in the mail today from amazon. One of the little nubbin things on the disc tray snapped off and so the disc doesn’t latch on. This means the disc is loose in the case.

Annoying kind of problem because it hardly seems worth the bother to return it. Maybe I can glue the little piece back on or something.

Amazon used to ship this stuff in cardboard, not flimsy envelopes. Oh well.
