Ok, I'll play. I want the BRD Trilogy on blu-ray. Failing a box set, would be fine with In The Mood For Love. Aw heck, since I'm too late, I'll throw in L'avventura and L'eclisse too while I'm thinking about it.

You guys do realize that the Howards in "Howards End" is not possessive, right? No apostrophe needed.

Do we not have a facepalm smilie on here? Because popularity=facepalm. That Malle movie should of been first.

Having myself a Criterion Netflix movie marathon to pass some time while on vacaton. After watching Picnic at Hanging Rock I just finished The Vanishing (1988). The Dutch version blows away the crappy American version in every way. Terrific film.

Well if the announcements are what CriterionCast posted trailers too, I'm going to stop reading forums from now on. The past 4 months we knew all releases before the announcements.

For anybody else who wants it spoiled:

Broadcast News, Shock Corridor, Naked Kiss, Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

I see a few wish lists here. In any case, my vote would be aything from Agnes Varda in HD would be great, one of my favorite New Wave directors.

Any French New Wave 100% gets my vote for blu.

We haven't got any type of French release at all since Sept. If the Jan releases are true, it will still not have a French release. That might be a record with Criterion. I don't think they have gone 4+ months without one.

So that would be only 1 new title for the Criterion library for two straight months? I suppose there could be one more title not yet leaked. Were Shock Corridor and Naked Kiss released as part of a set with the DVD version? Because I noticed their spine numbers are consecutive.

No set, just like a "Made in USA/ 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her" type back-to-back releases. No box or anything.

I hope there is some new surprise. Since December had 2 blu-rays, I could see them making Jan a big 5 release month. The 4 I posted plus a surprise.

I wish a "New American Wave" of films would happen soon. Ya, I know... it's probably wishful thinking. Time to go watch Hollywood's next big budget 3D CGI fest... Coming to a theater near you - Star Wars redux extended director's cut in 3D.

That's a shame, there are alot of great films in that era, but better late than never .

Guess I didn't even realize till CG mentioned it but there havn't been many. Honestly until Criterion Blu-Rays I'd barely heard of French New Wave. But most of what I have seen I liked.

I think it brought out more people to explore new content than some may have realized. Remember that blu ray even got people (mostly ps3 gamers) that didn't care about movies to be cinephiles, look at a few people here and you can see plenty of interest for that reason. Think of those same PS3 gamers that sit down and play Modern Warfare 2, fire up a Criterion blu ray every week.
