When I saw that drawing, it reminded me of a Robocop scene, the one where Robocop fights Boddicker in some kind of contruction site. However, I didn't see excavators, like the one in the drawing. Sometimes I forget how gruesome that movie can be, so if you are eating something, maybe it's not a good idea to watch this scene:

Or maybe we are lucky and we'll finally get a boxset with ALL Flintstones movies.

[Show spoiler]

I love how the real Spine #620 is La Promesse, because none of us got the Kindergarten Cop that was "promised".

Wonder if they could release a set with some of the WB owned Grant films that have yet to see a Blu release like Arsenic and Old Lace, Bringing Up Baby, Gunga Din.

Also speaking of Grant/Hitchcock films, I wonder what is going on with a release of Notorious? With the Deterich/Von Sternberg set Notorious and Roman Holiday are my two most coveted films at the moment.

ShellOilJunior wrote it wasn't technically a clue when he posted the picture, but it's always fun to speculate. It could certainly be read as a clue for The Grand Budapest Hotel as another poster cited, but wouldn't it be cool if they were building...the horror!...the Overlook Hotel?!?

Notorious (and Spellbound) are almost certainly getting re-issued in the future, similar to how Rebecca was.

Just ordered The Virgin Suicides and Elevator to the Gallows today. I could've SWORN that I pre-orded the Coppola film a long time ago. Then I checked today, and apparently I didn't Maybe I dreamt it or something. So weird, considering that it was one of a handful of films that was my most desired. The other is a blind buy, but it looks like it's right in my wheelhouse, and a very solid release.

Now if they can just get Marie Antoinette my life will be complete, dammit! Well, at least my Sofia Coppola collection will be, anyways.

I need to get Elevator to the Gallows. I was going to pick it up during the Feburary sale but it ended up being a film left out of my cart due to lack of money. I'm going to pick it up for sure during the next sale

This is superb news. It's one of the best noirs I've seen and the best B-movie I've seen. Whenever it comes out it will be a Day 1 purchase.

On Sunday, April 29, the TCM Classic Film Festival will also feature TUNES OF GLORY (1960, d. Ronald Neame), another film restored through the collaborative efforts of the Academy Film Archive, The Film Foundation, MoMA and Janus Films, with generous support from the George Lucas Family Foundation.
From that same press release. I've yet to see Tunes of Glory and have long wanted to watch it.

Is anyone here already preparing for the July B&N sale yet?

I am, and for good reason.

I'll be away for most of July on holiday, so the window of opportunity for this sale is very slim for me.

And making that window smaller is the addition of currency exchange, as well as the "need" for GST on online shopping, courtesy of the Aussie Government.

But I'll get through. Just watch.

My participation will be limited, since many of the new titles I am interested in are getting UK releases (AMOLAD!!!), but I might consider picking up these:
  • The Virgin Suicides
  • Dead Man
  • The Virgin Spring

However, my backlog of unwatched Criterions is getting embarrassingly large, so I might not partake... (who am I kidding)

Edit: It's worth putting stuff in your basket ahead of time, just in case there is one of those coupon overlaps that only last a couple of hours.

^Thanks for the tip, mate. My picks are-
-Bowling for Columbine
-Female Trouble
-Night of the Living Dead
-Silence of the Lambs
-Election
-Jabberwocky
-His Girl Friday
-Naked
-Paris, Texas
-Buena Vista Social Club
-The Virgin Suicides, and
-The Breakfast Club.

I always do get quite a lot in these sales, as I save up for them. Just purges at times for my Criterions. I'm already planning for November's sale, having to get more titles I can't afford but would like at this time. Since this site has put it in my Recommendations, I think I'll get Persona at the next sale.
