The artwork and everything is 100% fine. It's just sometimes when the light hits the plastic in a way, you can see all these scratches on the front covers. Just a few of them (M, Dillinger is Dead, 400 Blows-but I still have my cardboard case too, and a couple of my older ones). My M cover was already like this months ago before it came. All of my Godard films are perfect, though, of course.
CG, you need to stay off this forum for a little while. It's starting to get to you..

I know. I just found something though. A website called BagsUnlimited has Poly sleeves for dvd cases. Don't know if they will fit the Criterion blu-ray cases though.

what you need to find, is someone that sells those Scanavo Criterion BD cases. Then everyone's problems will be solved....

I need to do that too. First I need to rebuy the Scanavo BD cases, then get those poly sleeves, so I don't have this problem again.

It's only a 'problem' if you believe it is....

Don't forget the Criterion custom case carbon-static brush to remove lint and dirt before and after each use...

Yeah. Off-and-on days. Some days, not a problem. Today, since the subject was thrown around today, PROBLEM.

But yeah, not really a problem. Just some marks on plastic. Not like the artwork is messed up or anything.

Not that OCD'ed.

I was actually thinking of making a cool booklet/binder where the discs and movie booklets was on one page each, and forget the cases all together. But then I looked at my cases, and said, NO!

So this is the right thread for me to squeal in delight that BROADCAST NEWS is finally getting the treatment it deserves -- right?

Really interested in seeing the alternate ending, as the ending always felt "off" to me.

Cannot wait.

So I was so excited about the 5 new Blus that we're getting, I decided to go to Familyvideo.com to buy the America Lost and Found box set. Thanks for the heads up on the great price to whomever that was!

My copies of The Magician and The Darjeeling Limited arrived today from Amazon. Did anyone notice that the spine for TDL has a different font used for the spine number than all the rest of the CC BDs??? What gives????

I rent from Zip, and those two films are currently in the mail for me. I typically specially request the new Criterion Blus, which costs me C$5 (as do all other new releases). Last week it was Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence and The Thin Red Line. Tomorrow night it'll be Charade.

I absolutely loved Charade. My wife has an old copy that is a piece of garbage. We had been watching that about once a year with various family members that came to stay with us. Now we can watch it proper! The BD was incredible!

Have not seen Merry Christmas... yet, and Thin Red Line I saw years and years ago when I was probably too young to put the time and effort into a movie like that. I am looking forward to revisiting that one again as soon as I have 3 hours with no distractions!

Enjoy Charade!!

CG, if this keeps up we're going to need an intervention or else you're going to devolve into:

Worst. Intervention. Ever! I miss watching The Simpsons. Too bad shows on Fox sucks these days.

But I'll be cool on the OCD case thing. I deserve my 10 mins of crying about the cases. I'll think of something quick and cheap. I do like those poly protection sleeves. It's like covering your vinyl records with sleeves. I might get some. But other than that, I won't be one of those "Carefully take the movie out of the plastic with gloves on" people.

CC
Take away 400 pounds, about 20 years of age. Totally different haircut (short dark blonde btw). No zig-zag beard (I shaved today actually). A couple of tattoos on the arms. Never worked at a comic book store. White skin, not Simpson yellow, and you MIGHT be on to something.

Pretty much, nothing like him. A skinny, dark blonde, 22 year old white boy who loves Godard and the Velvet Underground. You know, the same ol', same ol'.

I know... that's the conundrum here..... and it was said that "people 25 and over are much more familiar with it" and since I'm old (not as old as CC....he's as old as dirt) my main circle of friends range from early 20's to early 40's

Perhaps I gravitate towards Mnemophobic luddites

I would look for something specifically made for PS3 games since the cases are so similar in size........ on second thought.... I wouldn't be looking for anything at all since it's all just silly

Because Sam Fuller is the F'n S***, next to Nicholas Ray that is.

Army of Shadows is prob the best Melville movie Criterion has. Also it's StudioCanal, which means Elevator to the Gallows could still see a blu release.

Broadcast News can be thrown out the window, and...

Haven't seen Robinson Crusoe on Mars, but that is significant to me because if they can release that, they can release pretty much anything with no crying "that it didn't sell well".

I know, but I seem to be the only person on this forum who has scratched front covers. That's why I love the cardboard releases. Also that they look better too.
