Funny story -- the first time I watched "The Great Dictator", I taped it off of TV somewhere... and the tape I used was a two hour tape, and it cut off literally two words into his speech. So afterwards everything I read said "What a great speech it ended on!" For a while, it was a big thing for me to actually see that damned scene, and when I finally did, naturally it seemed overrated to me.

I'm assuming it's a revamping of the site design. I have always liked Criterion's site design.

Maybe now it will look more like Andie MacDowell.

This year is the 80th anniversary of Bringing Up Baby so I wouldn't be surprised if it was released this year.

New site design is up. Looks completely, and I mean completely, different now. I like the old design much more, but I'm also averse to change, so yeah. It's more flashier now, but it seems more clunky to navigate around.

I just noticed the new website as well, and after some minor navigation issues, it's growing on me really fast. It definitely no longer looks like it was developed in the 90s, however it feels like it was geared towards tablets/phones and not traditional web browsing...

VERY different. Flashier.

It also has a huge design pet peeve of mine - the infamous "load more" design. No, I do not want to click load more over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over to get to the last result. Break it down by pages you jerks.

I guess they weren't kidding. Looks like more scrolling and loading to get to some things, but I like the impact of the blown up images.

I wonder if Criterion would re-release these to blu-ray.

Looks like they completely got rid of the cast/crew database, so no more phantom pages, or leaks before announcements it seems.

I think it's still a work in progress. Some things, and not just My Criterion, are not quite working. Let's see when the dust settles.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the main reasons for the overhaul...

Good God. DirecTV's gui change and Criterion site redesign within the last 24 hours. My head is going to explode.

Mulvaney's trolling experiment with phantom pages has run its course it seems.

I like the new listing of films better because you can create a spreadsheet via copy/Paste (Unformatted text) and build a list very quickly.

I'm averse to change, too, and this looks like a complete overhaul. I'll get used to the new site design eventually, especially since I have no choice in the matter.

I generally like the new redesign except for:
It took some time to figure out how to browse the collection, a simple thing to do
I would have liked it better if the film information was below the cover photo
Share buttons are in an awkward place
Definitely a lot of wasted space/extra scrolling

I just visited the newly designed site for The Clickbait Collection.

Oops... I meant The Criterion Collection.

When I click on a Coming Soon section of a Blu-ray website, the release dates should be one of the first things that I see. Not this time, sadly.
