Artwork is better, but still pretty generic and not very creative by Criterions standards but still great and being digital will have extra artworks inside!
![]() So happy about this release! Also bonus, just got my Dogville tattoo! (got the outline of the town on my shoulder :P, had to be slightly altered to work but im happy!) [Show spoiler]

So I was watching Yi Yi and I fell asleep.
![]() Edit: I finished Yi Yi and I must say what a beautiful film. It’s a rarity in that I wanted another 3 hours of the movie. Highly recommended if it’s lying in the unwatched pile or to pick up during the upcoming sale. What really fascinated me was Yang’s use of the mirrored imaged or reflection. The shots outside the vehicle, the apartment and hotel windows, and to an extent the photographs really added depth to the characters. Last edited by Martin_31; 06-06-2018 at 07:22 AM. |

Regarding Edward Yang in the CC... I was very surprised to see brand new copies of A Brighter Summer Day going for $12.95 on eBay last weekend. I don't know if there are any still left, but it is quite surprising that such a great film - a modern, accessible one, too, would be such a poor seller that vendors had to mark it down so much. |

Other than that, I remember it looking perfectly sharp and clear with fine and natural-looking film grain. The movie itself wowed me more on the first viewing than it did on the second. Now that I'm more familiar with Cronenberg's work, I oughta re-evaluate it and see how it holds up to a third viewing. |

So, I went to Wikipedia (I know, not the most reliable source) to look up the names of the films in the Koker Trilogy. Here's what is printed:
The Koker trilogy is a series of three films directed by acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami: Where Is the Friend's Home? (1987), And Life Goes On (a.k.a. Life and Nothing More, 1992) and Through the Olive Trees (1994). The designation was made by film theorists and critics, rather than by Kiarostami himself, who resists the designation and notes that the films are connected only by the accident of place (referring to the fact that Koker is the name of a northern Iranian village). He has suggested that it might be more appropriate to consider the latter two titles plus Taste of Cherry (1997) as a trilogy, since these are connected by the theme of life's preciousness.[1] Since it is a box, I am hoping that Taste of Cherry is included. Oh, and throw in Ten (2002) and Homework (1989,) too! Last edited by mrjohnnyb; 06-06-2018 at 09:19 PM. |
