The only films I'm interested in picking up in the next B&N sale are Tom Jones and the Dietrich & Von Sternberg set. Saving up for a big trip so I won't be buy many blu-rays.

I hope that isn't just a rumor. There's an adequate release already but I'd love to see what extras Criterion could come up with. Some added definition on Blair Brown wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Oh yeah, I would drop money on a CC edition of Altered States harder than rock star could drop acid.

The listing on Criterion’s website for Altered States was for Filmstruck. It could still happen, but the listing is not a confirmation that it’s coming.

My completely wrong predictions, going with an all "C" slate:

California Split
Cold Water
Columbus
Come and See
Crazed Fruit (upgrade)
Chungking Express (re-issue)

Would LOVE to see Columbus be a part of the collection. Is this rumored to be in the works or just a wild guess?

I would prefer Notorious first, but wouldn't complain if Spellbound is next.

Wouldn't it be nice if the announcement said that Criterion is releasing the previously OOP Studiocanal titles? Yeah, I know its 99.999% not going to happen but that would be the best news ever.

I hope they announce some Chaplin or Lloyd. It's been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long since the last release for either.

Be nice if they'd port some of those David Mamet films over to Blu-ray: House of Games or Homicide. Still holding out they're going to give us a Mamet boxset similar to the Cassavetes one, with House of Games, Homicide, Spanish Prisoner, Heist, Oleanna, and Spartan. But that's just wishful thinking.

An educated guess, Kogonada has done some video essays for Criterion and Columbus doesn't have a Region A blu-ray release yet.

It's weird that it doesn't even have a DVD release. Let's hope there is something in the works. Such a great movie.

I actually think the odds are better of Indicator doing a Mamet set now that they're releasing Oleanna and the vast majority of their titles are via the Sony catalog.

Just on Sony titles, a box of Things Change, The Spanish Prisoner and Homicide would be sweet. Hell, they could throw in Redbelt, too.

I agree. Also worth noting that it was distributed by Sundance which handled Blue is the Warmest Color so there is some history there as well.

I don't know if this was posted, but Takashi Murakami's exhibit at the Fort Worth Modern opened this week.

https://www.themodern.org/exhibition...S-OWN-LEG/3899

Weirdly enough, in addition to Murakami's Jellyfish Eyes and other anime things he was a part of, they are screening some other Criterion released titles such as Thief, Godzilla, and Bull Durham.
