Frequent Criterion collaborator Edward Kinsella made a poster for it a couple years back. It has a very Criterion-esque vibe to it. I don't mind the DVD art though, I believe there is official poster art with a similar image.

After seeing First Reformed yesterday and learning that it may have been partially influenced by Ordet, I went on Criterion's site to look at their now OOP box set that includes that film. Noticed that in the section that refers to the box set itself, it includes a "Ships July 7, 2018" tag on it. Is this an anomaly?

Link for Ordet where I noticed this, under "Available In":

So far, we’re looking at 3 upgrades & 1 new title. I’m predicting 6 titles total for the month. We got:
Andrei Rublev
My Man Godfrey
A Raisin in the Sun
Scenes from a Marriage

I’m predicting that the last two will be Hedwig and the Angry Inch & Cold Water.

I would say maybe because there isn't a lot of extras. But then Silence of the Lambs was very cheap at launch on Pre-Order Price Guarantee even more so than Joan of Arc.

Eight Hours Don't Make a Day would be my guess.

I think the Fassbinder Foundation said Eight Hours is slated for October.

I've long wanted this. Looks like I will have two buys for September at least. Looks like I will have to wait on getting the Shout Factory Pink Panther set since there's way too many other films I want in August since I wasn't able to take advantage of the recent Kino sale,.

Add The Bad Sleep Well to go along with Stray Dog. I've called for both for a long, long time.

Honestly, I think the features are the strongest part of that set.

The Last Picture Show and Easy Rider are excellent films and the rest range from very solid to Head but the features really do bring everything together.

At times it almost feels like the supplements are the features and the films are there to flesh them out.

Anybody who's hoping to get more than one separate release should strongly consider just getting the set. It's very good.

The BBS set costs the same as three individual releases during a 50% off sale, so that's worth it if just for Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, and The Last Picture Show.

If Criterion did release THE LAST PICTURE SHOW on Blu-ray as a stand-alone release (which I'm hoping they will), that would be great; not to mention affordable.

Besides, THE LAST PICTURE SHOW (even though I haven't seen it yet, so please, don't spoil anything for me) is #95 on the American Film Institute's List of the 100 Greatest American Movies of All Time (the 10th anniversary edition from 2007).

Just took a look at that list and 95 is way too low, I'd go Top 50 probably. It's one of those films that you catch yourself thinking about in the months after you see it.
