I'm going to need a change of underwear if Criterion puts out Altered States.

It was apparently confirmed by John Kapelos (the janitor in The Breakfast Club) last November when he did an interview with The Tulsa World. He says he was contacted by Criterion because John Hughes’ family found some deleted scenes from FBDO that he was in.

Here’s a link to the interview.

I’m not crazy about it but there were elements I liked... I don’t know his non-Criterion films very well so would welcome those additions as well!

For me, any Fellini is welcome but I'd like, in preference order:
Juliet of the Spirits
La Strada
Ginger and Fred

The last one I never hear mentioned, which is a shame. Watching Masina and Mastroianni in this always makes me smile.

I'm hoping for announcements for more Yasujirō Ozu and also more Douglas Sirk (ever since I first saw the All That Heaven Allows blu-ray - & subsequently bought it - I've been dying for more hi-def Sirk). Also Chaplin's The Circus would be great!

You could try High & Low, a kidnapping investigation thriller mixed with some social commentary. Anatomy of a Murder and Breaker Morant are very nicely done courtroom trials, though nail-biting they may not be so much. In Cold Blood is a murder investigation, but it's more famous for its realism than as a thriller. Rififi is reknowned for its tense middle act with a robbery sequence done completely without dialog / music.

PD: I'm intrigued by Elevator to the Gallows but I would like to hear some opinions about it before I made a purchase.
The Vanishing. Also Insomnia.

I don’t know if this has been shared yet, but this is currently listed in the Coming Soon Section:

No date though.

Just watched The Rules of the Game. Besides being banned by both France and Germany, the OCN being destroyed in WWII, and the film considered lost, why is this considered "one of the greatest films ever made"? The acting, screenplay, and cinematography are all unremarkable.

Once again I'm hoping for Wim Wenders's Until the End of the World but not holding my breath. It was mentioned as coming to the collection back in 2015 but nothing since.

That's like one of the most underrated films ever made. Considering how much we've evolved to a more digitized society where you're always expected to be connected to the internet, it's almost frightenley how much of it Wenders could anticipate when he made the film.

Plus it has tons of fantastic professional Sony monitors, including several HDM-2830s which was the first "modern" HD CRT ever created.
