It's a great film and a jigsaw puzzle you have to piece together. I'm not sure I would call it a thriller. I view it as a surreal horror film.

I'm in the minority here and found it to be just fairly okay. I would rather watch Bergman's Persona, which Mulholland Dr. borrows from to a certain degree. But, I've also only seen three Lynch films; I wasn't a fan of Eraserhead at all, and I quite like Blue Velvet.

I hated the film when I first saw it, because I thought it was random arty BS, but second viewing I realized the reveal of the film and a bulb glowed in my head at that moment. I liked it enough to double-dip on my previous (region B) Studio Canal blu-ray with their new release. Some of the scenes stills come across as "eh, whatever" but yeah the movie on the whole is a very good psychological horror film. And it's a heck of the lot better than the Twin Peaks movie.

Highly recommended by me, for film connoisseurs and lovers.
The Criterion Blu Collection version is the definitive best, till Criterion releases it again in 4k.
Beats both Predator 1 and 2 and Predators 4K trilogy collection put all together.

Im starting to understand why I find Jeanne Dielman & Last Year At Marienbad so transfixing. Not that they arent amazing films on their own merits BUT its Delphine Seyrig. I just finished watching Daughters of Darkness on Prime. Im not really a gothic horror person. There are a few Hammers I dig but thats mainly bc of Cushing & Lee.

As I was watching I felt the same transfixing feeling during Daughters that I did with Jeanne. I couldn't look away. There is something about Seyrig that makes me not even want to blink. These two characters couldnt be any more different. I mean a suburban mother and Countess Bathory...come on.

I havent seen Day of the Jackal in forever. Way before I knew about Jeanne Dielman or Seyrig so not sure how large of a part she has but Im super excited about Arrows blu now.

Yeah, Seyrig had a definite individual quality that can make it quite difficult to look away. She was a truly compelling performer.

No doubt.

She isn’t in Day of the Jackal for very long but the character she plays is significant to the plot. It’s an excellent film, I truly hope you enjoy it.

If you can handle season 3 of Twin Peaks(let alone love it) then Mulholland Dr. is definitely for you.

Mulholland Dr. is one of my all-time Top-3 films. They always switch around, granted. But Lynch's magnum opus (IMO, anyways) stands tall and is brilliant in pretty much every way.

It takes a few viewings to really grasp. I will admit that leaving the theater after a first viewing, I was very confused. But give it some more time and it all begins to settle in, to a degree anyways.

And come on. Naomi Watts and Laura Harring? It's really difficult to go wrong there.

If you're looking for another great movie with Seyrig in the lead try INDIA SONG.

Considering Criterion has been releasing numerous John Water's films to the collection, does anyone think we'll see Pink Flamingos by the end of the year? Or maybe next?

Polyester is the only certainty. Pink Flamingos isn’t very likely. Though Desperate Living and Pecker wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility.

At a recent screening, Loden's son confirmed a Blu-ray release is coming from Criterion. I hope we'll see it by the end of the year.

I wonder if criterion will put Spike Lee in the collection again. I'm thinking Jungle fever (maybe with the soundtrack as a bonus disc) Mo better blues or a deluxe Do the right thing edition

I remember that she's also in the third of Truffaut's 'Antoine Doinel' films, and she has a scene where she comes to see him for the afternoon and the sequence where she propositions him always gave me ASMR, LOL.
