Indeed, but you have to throw a bunch of money their way to make up for the 16 GBP shipping charge to the US. I was ready to pull the trigger on a handful of titles, but I'm only saving around $3 per title compared to B&N sales, so... it's pretty much a wash for me. May as well wait and then not risk international shipping (not that I usually have any issues, but the longer they travel the bigger the odds of something happening).

Agreed. I was really flagging it for our British colleagues on the forum.

So, is the "My Criterion" page ever coming back?

I've been sort of wondering the same thing.

I mean, think about it: They could call someone from Apple who could accomplish the task in a freakin' afternoon. It seems to me that, considering how simple it would be for a professional to do, that they simply haven't decided on exactly what they want it to be yet. That's the only explanation that makes any sense whatsoever right now.

Gah, I have the SCC digibooks for Red Circle and Army..., and the Criterion release for Leon Morin, and while I am not a sucker for packaging it's hard to let what I already have go.

Leon Morin is at least a longer, restored cut on the new SC disc.

They All Laughed is fantastic. Criminally overlooked. I have the DVD, and would love for Criterion to grab it to release on blu.

Great example of the modern screwball comedy.

I have a hard time believing it takes a year to build a community section on a website. Maybe if the developers only had MS Notepad, but even then it stretches credulity.

It could take a day; it could take 20 years. It just depends on how much you prioritize it and what resources you throw at it.

Oh I found that film kinda boring even in its shorter avatar. I'd sell it to any interested party in India that can handle region A discs.

Criterion

So apparently a Reddit forum member attended an expo where Criterion was one of the vendors.

... Just look at that massive Bergman boxset!

I wish it was conventional shelf-size, but I'll take it any way they give it.

Of all the possible boxsets there could be, this is one of the few that almost feels like it shouldn't be able to be hidden. If you have this, it must be seen! Bergman does not belong next to other discs. His greatness demands separation!

Apparently Criterion has the rights to the Marlon Brando film Burn! So, that’s another laserdisc to cross off the list.

Digipack, surely. The artwork reminds me of ECM releases of Arvo Pärt music - somewhat appropriately!

Honestly, I never had plans to put on my shelves in the first place. I have cleared out a beautiful place on my mantle.

That's just me, though. Don't know what others' plans are.
