Yeah, it's clear that the book is separate from the discs.

Damien Chazelle has done it again... just got back from the theater and First Man was mesmerizing... beats Ron Howard's Apollo 13 out of the solar system.

I couldn't help but think of For All Mankind while watching parts of this film. Great Criterion title if anyone has seen it. Also, for those conspiracy theorists who don't believe humans landed on the moon, they should aim a high powered telescope at the Sea of Tranquility base to see the one of 6 remaining flags (not waving) there... either that or watch For All Mankind.

Speaking of For All Mankind I can only think about a guy swimming in a toilet with that soundtrack.

Ah, cool. I had a mistaken impression from the image that the discs and book were one humongous entity.

I was just reading an article in a British newspaper about the moon landing conspiracy theory. I didn't know much about it - especially the part about the whole thing supposedly being filmed by Kubrick.

Cronenberg is working on a restoration of Crash! He doesn’t say who it going to.

This is one of those like She's Gotta Have It, where I'd be very surprised if it was anyone but Criterion.

It was obviously filmed by Kubrick. You can tell from all the headroom. He was forced to shoot in academy because it was gong to be shown 'live' on television but he clearly wanted it released theatrically in widescreen.

Not in the US.

And does Arrow have a deal with Warner in the UK? I'm pretty certain they don't in the US.

Question for someone who owns The Emigrants/The New Land:
It is the proper Swedish versions of the films correct? I just had a painful experience watching the shortened 150 minute English dubbed version of The Emigrants off TCM.

I'm going to predict that January is when we'll finally get The Grand Budapest Hotel. It would be a perfect movie to get for the dead of winter. In that case I guess it could be announced for February also. If not, then I give up. No more guessing for me. It'll get here when it gets here.

I love his clarification in the article: “That is not the one that won the Oscar, but the better one.”

Cronenberg’s Crash is a masterpiece. It sucks that Haggis had to steal the title and that the academy then raised it’s profile above Cronenberg’s vastly superior film.

Thanks, I will be purchasing that soon.

While on Troell, Maria Heiskanen gives one of the most underrated performances in the collection in Everlasting Moments.

I would be all over this. I never get tired of watching James Spader. If there's a truly underappreciated actor in Hollywood, it's him.

He takes on unconventional roles, which I love, and every single note of his performances are perfect.

Something about Spader, and Hutton. I wish Hutton got more opportunities to get loud, he always ends up in weird B stuff. Which I love, he brings him, but he never got THAT thing.

No offense. But had to snicker at this a bit, as if Anderson fans were the ones who've had to long hold out for anything.

I'd say you're right on the money.
