Great episode of the Flintstones, btw. MAJOR FLINTSTONES SPOILER AHEAD

Very Twilight Zone-ish.

Has anyone heard anything about the My Criterion page at the Criterion website? It's been for ever and it still says "Under Construction" like a Geocities website.

I remember when there was a newsletter drawing of grapes in the sun - obviously, it was for A Raisin in the Sun. Even so, some insisted that it was for something else, like The Wild Bunch.
I thought that the accepted guess was that the "raisin dancing in the sun" clue was for The Big Chill (I heard it through the grapevine?)

Weren't those two different clues? A newsletter clue with a grape/raisin tanning on a chaise lounge and a New Years clue with the dancing grape(s)?

Or something like that?

The Big Chill raisin clue was in a NYD drawing, and it was from several years back, while the bunch of grapes sun-tanning was a newsletter clue from this year, and was almost certainly for A Raisin in the Sun, which was announced soon after.

So with the Criterion sale starting tomorrow at B&N, what is everyone planning on picking up? I'll probably do pickups in waves.

Wave 1:

Shampoo
A Raisin in the Sun
Cold Water
Smithereens
My Man Godfrey

Wave 2:

Sisters
Blow Out
Dressed To Kill

Wave 3:

Ingmar Bergman Box Set
True Stories
Some Like It Hot

Wave 4:

Closely Watched Trains DVD
Il Posto DVD
I fidanzati DVD
I Vitelloni DVD
Le notti bianche DVD
A nos amours DVD
Loves of a Blonde DVD
Pearls of the Czech New Wave DVD

I'll pick up nothing in the B&N sale. Not only does their packaging suck, but also I want to accumulate loyalty points on Criterion.com so that I can shave off $50 on that Ingmar Bergman boxset during their next flash sale. So I'm just gonna keep buying their stuff for regular prices on Criterion.com.

I have Some Like it Hot pre-ordered at Amazon, it's still $19.59 there.

I wonder if I were to pick up the Le Deuxième Souffle DVD that it would be announced for an upgrade to blu-ray this month...

Definitely picking up Sisters during B&N sale. I don't think I'm getting the Bergman box since I already own almost all of the ones that I like.

Anyone have any thoughts about Dheepan, positive or negative?

I have little doubt that it’s a good picture, but these days I’m trying to limit my blind buys to films that will have strong replay value over the long run.

...it’s why I passed on I, Daniel Blake during the last sale.

Just the Bergman set. I pre-ordered Some Like it Hot when Amazon price matched Walmart and would be cheaper than ordering it from B&N.
