In for To Sleep with Anger (which will be my entry point to Burnett's filmography) and the Visconti.

OK I have to be the one to b!tch... but honestly lots of great films for FEB and yet NONE will have an audio commentary? Most of these films deserve one.

I'm in for all of those except the Bergman because i will already have it in the big set. But Fassbinder, Clouzot, Charles Burnett, and Visconti all in the same month are a solid line-up.

Great month with great films from great filmmakers.

I'm just surprised that there is no massively popular film this month. Since it is a sale month, none of these scream out "sale anchor" to me.

I'm going to try my damndest not to sound entitled in saying this but; rolling out those Bergman singles already in the set, while completely understandable, is disappointing. Just throwing that out there.

Wow, this is the most unenthusiastic (so far) I've possibly ever seen this thread after announcements go up.

These are ALL some very good to great films, fellas. Don't be discouraged because you may not be as familiar with them. They are great.

Personally, I'd much rather see these very kinds of releases from Criterion than a bunch of double dips on newer, mainstream films that already have good blu rays out.

I agree that it's a bit weird to be rolling out these individual Bergman titles already with that set coming out, as anyone getting the set won't be interested in any of these. Kind of a waste of a monthly slot.

But, otherwise, this is a great line-up of some very impressive films.

Why? Those who buy the set don't need to worry about the single releases, and those not buying the set now have the ability to pick and choose. What's the issue?

Overall I agree, however I will be getting La vérité based on my experience with Clouzot's other films. But the others, blah.

I'm all in for La Verite. I'm really not all that familiar with Death in Venice.

EDIT: Whoops, I see Shame in the Bergman set.

The issue is they should already just have each of those films as single releases since they are in a collection that comes out in November.

It's essentially not really an announcement, we already know it exists because it's in the Bergman set.
