To Sleep with Anger seems like a flick I could dig. Anyone familiar recommend it?

Ah that's true, they're sort of taking up one of the announcement slots.

Man, Criterion really doesn't care much about Japanese cinema anymore with their releases.

They released a Japanese film literally two days ago.

The Bergman release is sort of a waste. I would think most people who are interested in Bergman titles will get the box set.

That was two days ago, man- WHAT ABOUT TODAY?! Since earlier this week, their support of Japanese cinema has fallen off a cliff.

La v้rit้ and Death in Venice are my picks of the litter.

I want the big Ingmar Bergman box set, and I will probably buy it this month. I'm setting aside a ton of cash for Vinegar Syndrome's Horror and Exploitation 2019 subscription, though, so I'm going to have to see how much I have left over after Black Friday weekend.

There are still a bunch of Bergman films I want to see for the first time, but that big set is just too much for me atm.

Too much money
Too much overlap with titles I already own
Too many titles it would take me forever to get around to watch.

I've already got eight IB films (off the top of my head, maybe more) that I own but haven't gotten around yet to spinning on Bd.

I am interested in seeing Shame again, but I can wait until a Criterion flash sale or another B&N sale.

Very much looking forward to La Verite.

All of the above applies to me. Considering my current unwatched stack, I would get around to watching the Bergman stuff when I'm about 65 years old.

Still, with the price right now and with the probability of getting the set in decent condition, it's a good time to pull the trigger.

Not really... some people might only want 1 or 2 Bergman films, they wont buy an entire boxset to own the film they want... so would probs buy elsewhere.

At least this gives people some flexibility and less pressure to buy the big set (which is really well priced though!)

Shame shares the disc with The Passion of Anna in the Bergman set, so the solo release should have better encoding.

Ditto. This is the perfect month for me:

One great box set
A couple must haves
A wildcard
A skippable solo release

And no double dips of movies with perfectly fine Blu-ray releases already.

I'm happiest about the Visconti. Lets hope Le notti bianche isn't too far behind.

The problem with this line of thinking is that there aren't a set amount of "slots" each month. If they didn't release Shame in February, they may have just had one less release in the month.
