Should do. It's the Fassbinder Foundation's restoration.

I have finally seen the day when CC upgrade Berlin Alexanderplatz... Funny, as if I remember, they said they were not going to years ago, as it is 1080i. I guess that has changed. Glad I sold my set off a year ago, as I have seen it twice and was tempted to pick up the UK edition for a future viewing. Glad I didn't pick it up. IMO, any Clouzot is a great film, so that is a must. The others, except the Bergman (Box Set already), are very nice surprises too. The Berlin set is definitely a sale item, as I am not in a hurry to view it and can wait, but the Clouzot is a go. Great month CC..

I take it back- I do blind buy, but I don’t really buy Blus on a constant basis. It’s mainly if I find a good deal, or if I want something when it releases. I have a wishlist (which I should add here to the database to make it easier), but I don’t generally go after titles specifically at a time.

Warning: Potentially unpopular opinion

This is amazing art for a movie I absolutely detested at the time I saw it. Then again, I have never understood the acclaim for Danny Glover as any kind of major acting talent. Sure, Lethal Weapon is fun and all, but I don't see what the big deal is about Glover. I'm sure both of these opinions are unpopular ones. So be it.

A cool secret is that you don’t have to share any and every opinion that comes into your head, even though you have the tools at your disposal. Please don’t spread this around though, keep it on the DL.

Thanks, Lemony, but all *I* see in Danny Glover is an astoundingly mediocre, wholly overrated, completely one-dimensional performer.

To Sleep with Anger is an aimless slog, but I'm not sure if I can blame Glover for that one. In another actor's hands though, it might have worked for me.

Still, I have to admit, if Criterion released a poster of that sweet cover art, I'd probably buy it and try to force myself to like the movie.

I’m watching Breaking the Waves tonight for the first time.

If I see so much as a single dildo and/or mutilated clitoris or if I’m tempted to asphyxiate myself after it’s over, then I will expurgate Lars von Trier from my cinematic journey.

...never to be seen or heard from again.

Just the regular Von Trier fare.

Many thanks! I just bought the Killer of Sheep DVD since it's regarded well by critics. Most of my blu-ray purchases are blind buys.

You should check out your local library. My city's library has probably 70% of the entire Criterion lineup available to check out for free. Many on both DVD and Blu-ray. New titles are added to the catalog every month. They even have the entire Zatoichi boxset which you can check out all at once. I own probably over 60 Criterion titles and less than 5 were blind-buys.

Not everyone wants to keep multi-dipping for incremental visual improvements and a fancy box. I would prefer to get titles I am specifically interested in and don't already have.

I'm not claiming it to be an "issue." I said I understand why they're doing it too because it's extremely obvious.
