Just made a count. It's actually ten films. Haven't watched any of them yet. From the Bds, that is. I've seen about half of them. Some, like Wild Strawberries and Seventh Seal, multiple times.

So yeah, the money for the set could be better spent elsewhere for me.
Like the Blood Island collection, for instance.

Each item you check out is due in three weeks and if no one else has it on reserve you can renew it up to two times. So 3-9 weeks to watch 25 films, which is entirely do-able.

If Criterion were logical they would release the set as the same month as the new Godzilla release. Still, the word logical and Criterion don't seem to go hand in hand.

Highly unlikely for a complete set since the films are with different rights-holders and some have already been released on blu. A box set of just their MGM films might be possible. I would love to see Adam's Rib, Pat & MIke, and Without Love. Realistically, I can see Adam's Rib getting a Criterion release, Pat & Mike a WAC release, and Without Love probably never, but what do I know?

This is great news, but I'll miss the TCM stuff. FilmStruck was really the best of both worlds for me.
