Thoroughly agree. Story of a Love Affair and Zabriskie Point are currently my two most wanted..

As for Il mistero di Oberwald, I'm down. Especially to see how many feathers will be rattled by NEW 0.5K RESTORATION in the announcement.

I'd love to see Criterion take a chance and release some Cat III Honk Kong films, specifically The Untold Story, Daughter of Darkness, Men Behind the Sun, Naked Killer, Ebola Syndrome, Dr Lamb, The Eternal Evil of Asia, Red to Kill, Her Vengeance, The Peeping Tom, Black Cat(badass La Femme Nikita HK remake).

I love even the smallest movies from David Lean, but I have this one pending on my watchlist. Im sure it wont disappoint me but after your comment im starting to feel uneasy wondering how bleak the story could be without songs.
I love the 1968 version too, but it is a whole different experience. If I had to compare that with the 1948 version, I would say it's like Dr. Dolittle (1967) compared to Freaks (1932). I would never let my grandkids watch the 1948 version. It would give them nightmares...

Interesting!

Went to see a screening of Uchida's POLICEMAN the other night at the Film Forum in NYC and before the film the manager (I think? if not the owner?) was pimping out a few upcoming screenings over the next few months and he said that in March (I think he said the 14th) they'll be an engagement of a new restoration of THE WEDDING MARCH.

Soooo. . . no further information on that, but hasn't this been a long time Criterion discussed title?

Has anyone ever had playback issues with Red Desert? When I was trying to watch it with Blu-Ray Player Pro on my Mac, it skipped past the menu and went straight to the film when I selected No on the Resume Playing screen. However, the problem went away while I rolled back the software to an earlier version. Why would this issue only present itself with this particular disc though?

I'm almost positive this list will be knocked down quite a bit by the end of 2019.

A Bridge Too Far
A Chorus Line
Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of The Desert
Annie Hall
Back To School
Battle of Britain
The Birdcage
Blue Velvet
Capote
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
The Cutting Edge
Dead Man Walking
Fiddler on the Roof
Force 10 From Navarone
The Great Escape
The Greatest Story Ever Told
Hair
Hannah and Her Sisters
Honeymoon In Vegas
Hoosiers
The Horse Soldiers
Last Tango In Paris
The Last Waltz
Leaving Las Vegas
The Magnificent Seven
Manhattan
The Misfits
Moonstruck
Much Ado About Nothing
Mystic Pizza
Navy Seals
New York, New York
Overboard
Posse
Raging Bull
Rain Man
Rob Roy
Showgirls
Sleeper
Spellbound
Thelma & Louise
The Terminator
This Is Spinal Tap
Throw Momma from the Train
The Usual Suspects
Vera Cruz
WarGames
Weekend at Bernie's
West Side Story
I wouldn't mind seeing Criterion release Hair. The MGM release was totally bare-bones.

Speaking of WB and Criterion titles, here's a question for anyone who wants to play along:

What Warner Brothers title would you most likely see be released by Criterion in 2019 ?

I'll start it off by saying Dustin Hoffman's Straight Time from 1978.

Next ???

Le Doulos is coming from Kino next year.

I wish they would put more Lars von Trier movies on Blu-ray like Europa, Dancer in the Dark, Epidemic and Dogville.
