And come on guys Bamboo Sled being Bamboozled is exactly the kind of clever clues Criterion is known for. A sugar cane sled isn't that clever.

My first impression was to see it as a sled made of bamboo walking canes so I immediately thought of Citizen Kane. Bamboozled makes sense as well.

I know it’s a stretch but could a group of walking canes also indicate a Chaplin box set?

I just realized that there are two different movies with similar titles: Europa (von Trier) and Europa, Europa (Holland.) I had been thinking that we were getting the former title.

This is what too much booze on New Year's Eve will do to you!

If they're announcing spine 1000 this year, and Citizen Kane is amongst some of the rumoured possibilities, then surely that's a big indication?

Spine 1000 is obviously going to be PINK FLAMINGOS.

Bamboozled is an odd choice if that's true, unless it was chosen for political reasons. It's quite distinctive and has some great scenes, but it's a bit of a mess.

Re: Lloyd. I heard that Criterion will release a boxset of his talkies. I hope that isn't true because they are ridiculously inferior to his silents. All of them, including The Milky Way.

Bamboozled, and some of Lee's other work have gained new appreciation recently in light of the political/cultural climate these days. With BlacKkKlansman, Lee has also had a big comeback as far as recognition is concenred, so it makes sense for Criterion to put it out. CC have certainly put out worse movies, and with this one not having any release whatsoever, I'm all for it getting one.

^^Yeh that's what I was driving at. Bamboozled looks pretty rough nowadays because of the old school DV. Not sure how much better it will look on blu, but I guess it's good news for fans.

I must be one of the few people that thought BlackkKlansman was mediocre and among Spike's worst films.

No you are not the only one, apart from a handful of scenes I also thought Blackklansman was pretty mediocre and far from Lee’s best work.

Given their affection for Preston Sturges, I'm surprised that The Sin of Harold Diddlebock hasn't been released already.

One of things I noticed about this year's drawing is how small it was compared to previous years. It would make sense that many of the clues would be doing double or triple duty.

p.s. The leopard is hiding in the tree.

Happier than last year which had a drawing representing FilmStruck taking up a large amount of space.

If Criterion has Wim Wenders' and Robby Muller's UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (1991)
they need to move on it. There is a point at which release delayed becomes release denied.
As in preventing people from seeing it.

That would be divine!

But per the Man himself, Warner reached out to him about it so looks like it’s coming from them and not criterion. Here’s hoping for a solid transfer and it would be cool to see some new features even though I’m sure Waters has grown tired of discussing it.

Waters doesn't really seem like he tires of talking about anything.

I just don't enjoy John Waters movies. They aren't bad. They just aren't for me.

I figured that they would be cancelling those prices. I'm surprised that price was left active for so long. It was several days.

Is the board game clue solved? Looks like it’s “Life” and since they are playing outdoors, in the “wild” could be a clue for Paul Dano’s Wildlife.

Maybe i’m stretching there.

I'm not sure it's Life. Isn't one of more distinctive things about the Life board the wheel? This board also has several stars on them. I can't think of a board game that really matches it that well. The closest I thought was Candy Land because of the winding paths, but even that doesn't line up great. I feel like I see game pieces from Sorry! too.

Edit: wait, Sorry! has several stars on it just like the board here. It might be for that, even though the paths don't match.
