I got a few after work today and I swear every one that was in stock last night was still available. That may be because they have extra in stock and replace those sold but that is only an assumption and probably a bad one!

It isn't like the sale is publicized when you walk into the video area of the store. The BDs are stickered 50% off but they aren't separately shelved or any extra attention paid drawing one to them (no sign displayed or the like) so if folks don't know about the sale they will just continue to be in the dark at that store.

It was through this forum I found out or I wouldn't have never known either. Thanks folks!!

I came in at 9 am when they opened and grabbed 4. then I just decided to run there again and pick up a couple more a few minutes ago since I was out shopping. The same manager who was there when they opened mentioned that I was the only person to come in all day for them

this thread is what it is, and though I'm sure some people that come to it may get super frustrated, I enjoy the fact that you really never know what anyone is going to post about.
It makes it a fun, unique thread on bd.com.
I like all the "regular" posters in the thread, and wasn't trying to infer anything different.
people are used to posting their "buy" lists, and even if there is another thread out there, it's not the same because people want to post in the MAIN Criterion thread.
I understand why some people may hate it, but it just makes people feel good to post their buys.
it's part of the collector mentality.
and you know good and well there are plenty of people in this thread with a hardcore collector mentality whether they want to admit it or not.

Same reason here on the von Sternberg silents. If CC has released them VERY recently on DVD, chances of a version on BD would tend to be a bit more remote.

I enjoy this forum as well, mainly because of the inside scoop (speculations) and the plethora of bickering, which, ya gotta admit, is hilarious online. I've probably been reading these posts a few times daily since the 300's (post #).

I've gotten more good movie recommendations from people I'll never know, simply from keeping up with the discussions that are actually about films. I find that to be a major plus. Yes, there is a bunch of mindless crap posted here, but at least at the end of the day, nobody gets maimed.

And if I am not mistaken, wasn't this other holy thread people keep pointing us to JUST created? I took a gander over there and it is just not the same. If I am going to brag about my purchases, it is going to be to you guys, not them! GOT EM!!
